Man Wah Sun Chuen
Man Wah Sun Chuen () is a private housing estate at the junction of Jordan Road and Ferry Street, in Yau Ma Tei, Kowloon, Hong Kong, near the former Jordan Road Ferry Pier (now MTR Austin station). Formerly the site of the warehouse of Yaumatei Ferry Pier on the reclaimed land of West Jordan, Man Wah Sun Chuen has a total of eight blocks built in 1965 and it is one of the oldest private housing estates in Hong Kong. Its three sides were surrounded by the sea before the West Kowloon Reclamation was completed in the 1990s. Austin is an underground MTR rapid transit station on the in Hong Kong, situated perpendicular to Wui Cheung Road and Austin Road West, and formerly adjacent to Jordan Road Ferry Pier Bus Terminus. West Kowloon () is the western part of Kowloon Peninsula in Hong Kong, situated within the Yau Tsim Mong District and Sham Shui Po District. It is bounded by Canton Road to the east, Victoria Harbour to the west and the south, and Jordan Road to the north. Jordan () is an area in Hong Kong, located on Kowloon Peninsula. It is named after a road of the same name in the district. The area is bordered by King's Park to the east, Tsim Sha Tsui to the south, Ferry Point to the west, and Yau Ma Tei to the north. Administratively, it is part of Yau Tsim Mong District. Yaumatei Ferry Pier () (1924–1933) was a ferry pier at the junction of Public Square Street and Ferry Street (now Prosperous Garden) in Yau Ma Tei, Kowloon, Hong Kong. The seaside outside Ferry Street is now reclaimed. Another pier, at the other end of the company's main route, in Central, was known as HYF pier, for 'Hong Kong and Yaumatei Ferry'. Jordan Road Ferry Pier or Ferry Point (1924–1998) () is a demolished pier originally located at Jordan Road, Hong Kong, Jordan Road, Jordan, Hong Kong. History After Hongkong and Yaumati Ferry gained the franchise to operate part of the cross harbour ferry routes, including the Central, Hong Kong, Central – Yau Ma Tei route, starting from 1 January 1924, the company set up Yaumatei Ferry Pier at Public Square Street for its ferry operations. In 1933, a new vehicular ferry route from Central to Yau Ma Tei was started, and Jordan Road Ferry Pier was built to handle vehicular ferries. Original ferry operations also moved to the new pier.
