"Eye of the Tiger" is a song by American rock band Survivor. It was released as a single from their third album of the same name and was also the theme song for the 1982 film ''Rocky III'', which was released a day before the single. The song was written by Survivor guitarist Frankie Sullivan and keyboardist Jim Peterik, and it was recorded at the request of ''Rocky III'' star, writer, and director Sylvester Stallone, after Queen denied him permission to use " Another One Bites the Dust", the song Stallone intended as the ''Rocky III'' theme. The version of the song that appears in the film is the demo version of the song. The film version also contained tiger growls, which did not appear on the album version. It features original Survivor singer Dave Bickler on lead vocals. The song is also the title song to the 1986 film of the same name. "Eye of the Tiger" is written in the key of C minor. It gained tremendous MTV and radio airplay and topped charts worldwide during 1982. ...

Songs Written By Jim Peterik
A song is a musical composition intended to be performed by the human voice. This is often done at distinct and fixed pitches (melodies) using patterns of sound and silence. Songs contain various forms, such as those including the repetition and variation of sections. Written words created specifically for music, or for which music is specifically created, are called lyrics. If a pre-existing poem is set to composed music in classical music it is an art song. Songs that are sung on repeated pitches without distinct contours and patterns that rise and fall are called chants. Songs composed in a simple style that are learned informally "by ear" are often referred to as folk songs. Songs that are composed for professional singers who sell their recordings or live shows to the mass market are called popular songs. These songs, which have broad appeal, are often composed by professional songwriters, composers, and lyricists. Art songs are composed by trained classical compos ...

"Burning Heart" is a song by Survivor. It appeared in the 1985 film ''Rocky IV'' and on its soundtrack album; the film's star Sylvester Stallone personally commissioned the song. The single peaked at number 2 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 for two weeks in February 1986, behind "That's What Friends Are For" by Dionne and Friends.
