Man-lei Wong () was a Chinese actress from Hong Kong. Wong was credited with over 300 films. Wong had a star at Avenue of Stars in Hong Kong. Early life In 1913, Wong was born in Hong Kong. Education Wong attended Belilios Teachers College, an Italian missionary college. Career In 1930, at age 17, Wong's acting career began in silent film in Shanghai, China. Wong appeared in Burns the White-Bird Temple (1930) and 24 Heroes (1930). In 1932, Wong became a Hong Kong actress. Wong played a rich girl in silent film Gunshot at Midnight (1932) directed by Moon Kwan Man-Ching and she was Chiu Ching-Ha in Cry of the Cuckoo in the Temple (1932) directed by Leung Siu-Bo. In 1935, Wong was Yuet Han in Yesterday's Song, a talking Cantonese drama film directed by Chiu Shu-San. In 1952, Wong co-founded Union Film Enterprise. Avenue Of Stars, Hong Kong
The Avenue of Stars (), modelled on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, is an avenue located along the Victoria Harbour waterfront in Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong. It honours celebrities of the Hong Kong film industry. History Establishment In 1982, the New World Group built a promenade along the waterfront around the New World Centre in Tsim Sha Tsui East, Kowloon. In 2004, the Group announced it would spend HK$40 million to build the Avenue of Stars, a project supported by the Hong Kong Tourism Board, Tourism Commission, the Leisure and Cultural Services Department of the Hong Kong Government and the Hong Kong Film Awards Association. ''Dream Lovers'' is a 1986 Hong Kong romantic fantasy film directed by Tony Au. The film stars Chow Yun-fat as Song Yu, a famous orchestra conductor who recently has visions of a beautiful woman and a Qin dynasty era terracotta statue. When Song visits the statues, he meets Cheung Yuet-heung (Brigitte Lin), who also has dreams of a long lost lover. but with her visions being more violent. The two meet with a medium who tells them that they are the reincarnations of a pair of lovers who were murdered hundreds of years earlier. ''Dream Lovers'' was Au's second film following 1983's ''Last Affair'' where he again worked with Chow. Guangzhouwan
The Leased Territory of Guangzhouwan, officially the , was a territory on the coast of Zhanjiang in China leased to France and administered by French Indochina. The capital of the territory was Fort-Bayard, present-day Zhanjiang. The Japanese occupied the territory in February 1943. In 1945, following the surrender of Japan, France formally relinquished Guangzhouwan to China. The territory did not experience the rapid growth in population that other parts of coastal China experienced, rising from 189,000 in the early 20th century to just 209,000 in 1935. Early life In 1920, Pak was born as Chan Yuk Ping in Guangzhou, China. Career In 1936, Pak began her acting career in Guangzhou, China. In 1937, Pak became a Hong Kong actress and debuted in The Magnificent Country, a 1937 war film directed by Chan Tin. In 1952, Pak co-founded Union Film Enterprise. Pak received the First Class Individual Achievement Award from People's Republic of China for her role in Spring (1953), a historical drama directed by Lee Sun-fung. In 1954, Pak founded Shan Luen Motion Picture Company, and it produced Madam Yun (1954) as the first film in the same year and Pak played the role of Madam Yun.
