Mamen Mendizábal
María del Carmen Mendizábal García (born 15 January 1976) is a Spanish journalist and television presenter who has worked for the television channel LaSexta since 2006. She began her career at the national radio station Cadena SER as a journalist and presenter before moving into public television with Televisión Española in October 2004. Mendizábal joined the private television channel LaSexta in 2006 and has read the news and presented various programmes on the channel. She has won an ATV Award for Best Communicator of News Programmes, an Antena de Oro and the TP de Oro Award for Best News Presenter twice in 2006 and 2008, respectively. José Ignacio Gabilondo Pujol (born 19 October 1942, in San Sebastián) better known as Iñaki Gabilondo is a Spanish journalist, and TV news anchor. Gabilondo started his career at 21 (1963) in Radio Popular (COPE) until 1969, when he became the director of Radio San Sebastián (Cadena SER). Two years later, he directed the news department of Cadena SER Sevilla. In 1978 he directed and hosted ''Hora 25'' (Cadena SER), until he became the TV news director of Televisión Española, the Spanish public TV channel network. 2008 Spanish General Election
The 2008 Spanish general election was held on Sunday, 9 March 2008, to elect the 9th Cortes Generales of the Kingdom of Spain. All 350 seats in the Congress of Deputies were up for election, as well as 208 of 264 seats in the Senate. After four years of growing bipolarisation of Spanish politics, the election saw a record result for both ruling Spanish Socialist Workers' Party (PSOE) and opposition People's Party (PP), together obtaining more than 83% of the vote share—over 21 million votes—and 92% of the Congress seats. The PSOE under José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero benefitted from tactical voting against the PP and emerged as the most-voted party just 7 seats short of an overall majority. Mariano Rajoy Brey (; born 27 March 1955) is a Spanish politician who served as Prime Minister of Spain from 2011 to 2018, when a vote of no confidence ousted his government.
