Mamacruz
''Mamacruz'' is a 2023 Spanish-Venezuelan comedy-drama film directed by Patricia Ortega and written by Ortega and José Ortuño. It stars Kiti Mánver. Plot The plot concerns about the rediscovery of an old woman's long-forgotten sexuality and desire. Cast Production Initially developed by Ortega in her native Venezuela, the project did not manage to persuade potential co-producers to work in the country. Upon a meeting of Ortega with Olmo Figueredo at 2019 Rome's MIA Market, the project eventually moved across the Atlantic to Spain. The screenplay was penned by Ortega alongside José Ortuño, who helped to adapt the script to a "Sevillian idiosyncrasy". A Spanish-Venezuelan co-production, the film was produced by La Claqueta PC, Mamacruz AIE, and Pecado Films alongside Mandrágora Films, with the participation of Canal Sur Radio y Televisión, support from ICAA, and help from . Patricia Ortega (Venezuelan , born 1977) is a Venezuelan film director. She has won multiple accolades, particularly for her 2018 film '' Being Impossible''. Early life Ortega says that she has been a movie lover since she was young, and so the decision to become a filmmaker was natural. She has studied journalism at university. Career Ortega studied at the Escuela Internacional de Cine y Televisión in Cuba, specialising in Film Direction. After creating some short films, Ortega became president of the independent Venezuelan production company Mandrágora Films in 2009. MarÃa Isabel Ana Mantecón Vernalte (born 11 May 1953), better known as Kiti Mánver, is a Spanish actress. She has appeared in more than 100 films and television shows since 1970. Biography MarÃa Isabel Ana Mantecón Vernalte was born in Antequera on 11 May 1953. She spent her early childhood in between Málaga and Melilla, moving to Madrid at age 13. She made her feature film debut in ' (1970), playing a girl version of the character Elisa who is raped by her godfather. She then featured in the 1973 film ''Habla, mudita''.
