Maljalahti
Maljalahti (; literally translated " crater bay") is a district in the central part of the city of Kuopio, Finland. The northern boundary of the district is the Savonia railway (with the exception that the Kuopio bus station north of the line belongs to the area), the Hatsalankatu street in the west, Suokatu in the south and Lake Kallavesi in the east. Neighboring parts of Maljalahti are Puijo and Linnanpelto in the north, Itkonniemi in the east, Vahtivuori and Multimäki in the south and Hatsala in the west. The Kuopio Railway Station, the Kuopio Prison and the Hapelähteenpuisto park, among others, are located in the Maljalahti district. Before the winter, there was an ice rink in the park. Vahtivuori is a district in the city of Kuopio, Finland, located between the city center and Lake Kallavesi. The southern boundary of Vahtivuori is Minna Canthin katu, the western boundary is Vuorikatu, the northern boundary is Suokatu and the eastern boundary is formed by Lake Kallavesi. The neighboring parts of Vahtivuori are Maljalahti in the north, Väinölänniemi in the south and Multimäki in the west. Minna Canth
Minna Canth (; born Ulrika Wilhelmina Johnson; 19 March 1844 – 12 May 1897) was a Finnish writer and social activist. Canth began to write while managing her family draper's shop and living as a widow raising seven children. Her work addresses issues of women's rights, particularly in the context of a prevailing culture she considered antithetical to permitting expression and realization of women's aspirations. ''The Worker's Wife'' and ''The Pastor's Family'' are her best known plays, but the play '' Anna Liisa'' is the most adapted to the films and operas. In her time, she became a controversial figure, due to the asynchrony between her ideas and those of her time, and in part due to her strong advocacy for her point of view. Ice Rink
An ice rink (or ice skating rink) is a frozen body of water and/or an artificial sheet of ice created using hardened chemicals where people can ice skate or play winter sports. Hatsala
Hatsala is a district located west of the center of Kuopio, Finland. The eastern boundary of the area is Puistokatu, the southern boundary is Minna Canthin katu and the northern is the Kuopio motorway. The western border first runs along Sairaalakatu and Niiralankatu. From the intersection of Suokatu, the border first runs north, then turns west and passes through the Savonia railway line to the motorway. The border leaves Mustinlammi on the Niirala side and on the Hatsala side of the swimming hall and Kuopio Hall.
