Tanjung Malim
Tanjung Malim, or Tanjong Malim, is a town in Muallim District, Perak, Malaysia. It is approximately north of Kuala Lumpur and 120 km south of Ipoh via the North–South Expressway. It lies on the Perak-Selangor state border, with Sungai Bernam serving as the natural divider. Today, "Tanjung Malim" usually refers to the territory under administration of Tanjung Malim District Council or ''Majlis Daerah Tanjung Malim (MDTM)'', which includes the smaller towns adjacent to the town such as Proton City, Behrang, Behrang 2020, Sungkai and Slim River. "Tanjung Malim" is lately also referred to the ''Old Town'' and ''New Town'' divided by the KTM Komuter rail at its heart, from which the town grew. Tabina
Tabina, officially the Municipality of Tabina ( ceb, Lungsod sa Tabina; Subanen: ''Benwa Tabina''; Chavacano: ''Municipalidad de Tabina''; tl, Bayan ng Tabina), is a 4th class municipality in the province of Zamboanga del Sur, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 25,734 people. History Tabina was formed out of the Municipality of Dimataling on August 16, 1961, by virtue of Executive Order No. 443 signed by President Carlos P. Garcia. Upon its creation, Tabina has twelve (12) barangays which comprised its original territory. 4 new barangays (Capisan, Doña Josefina, New Oroquita, San Francisco) were later created. When the Municipality of Pitogo was created, barangay Limbayan was detached from the Municipality of Tabina to be added to the new municipality, thus, resulting in a total number of fifteen (15) barangays within its jurisdiction. William Malim
William Malim (1533–1594) was an English academic, schoolmaster and Neo-Latin author. Life Malim was born at Staplehurst in Kent. He was educated at Eton College, and went on to King's College, Cambridge, where he was admitted a scholar, 14 August 1548. Three years later he was made a fellow. He graduated B.A. in 1553, and M.A. in 1556. On 11 January 1555 he was discommuned for a fortnight, but for what offence is not known. Malim found time for foreign travel; on his own account he visited Constantinople, Antioch, Jerusalem, and other eastern cities. On 14 January 1559 he was directed by his college to study civil law. But he discontinued the study on his appointment as headmaster of Eton in 1561, in succession to William Barker, and resigned his fellowship at King's soon afterwards. While at Eton he drew up a ''Consuetudinarium'', or account of the rules and observances of the college, probably composed, with a view to the visit of the royal commissioners in 1561. Malim seem ... Nigel Malim
Rear-Admiral Nigel Hugh Malim (5 April 1919 – 23 August 2006) was a Royal Navy officer who served in the Second World War. He survived his ship being sunk, and was later Commander Engineer on the Royal Yacht ''Britannia'', District Engineer for Scotland, Deputy Director of Marine Engineering, Captain of the Royal Naval Engineering College Manadon and Chief Staff Officer (Technical) to the Commander-in-Chief of the Western Fleet. In retirement he was a Deputy to the Lord Lieutenant of Lincolnshire. Service career A native of Barrow upon Humber in North Lincolnshire, and the son of an engineer, Malim joined the Royal Navy as a cadet on leaving Weymouth College in 1936. An Empire ship is a merchant ship that was given a name beginning with "Empire" in the service of the Government of the United Kingdom during and after World War II. Most were used by the Ministry of War Transport (MoWT), which owned them and contracted their operation to various shipping companies of the British Merchant Navy. Empire ships came from two main sources: new construction, and capture and seizure. New Empire ships were built for the MoWT or obtained from the United States to increase Britain's shipping capacity and offset losses to German U-boats, commerce raiders, bombing and other enemy actions in the tonnage war Germany was waging against Britain's sea transport around the globe.
