Malahide RFC
Malahide RFC is an Irish rugby club based in Malahide, Fingal County, playing in Division 2B of the All-Ireland League. The club was founded in 1922 but disbanded in 1944 because of a lack of members during World War II. The club was reformed in 1978 and in 2006 the club moved into its new grounds on Estuary Road. The club colours are black and amber, the same colours as Malahide Cricket Club and Malahide Yacht Club. History Malahide RFC was founded in 1922. Its patron was Lord Talbot of Malahide. In those years Malahide RFC fielded two senior teams, playing in Leinster Branch IRFU, League and Cup competitions. Matches were played in Malahide Castle grounds, on the site where Malahide Cricket Club now reside. The Irish Rugby Football Union (IRFU) ( ga, Cumann Rugbaí na hÉireann) is the body managing rugby union in the island of Ireland (both Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland). Skerries RFC
Skerries RFC is an Irish rugby team based in Skerries, Dublin in the province of Leinster. They play in Division 2C of the All-Ireland League. The club was founded and became a member of the Leinster Branch of the IRFU in 1926. They played their first recorded match against Drogheda, and won by 9 points to 8. The club has 2 pitches: 1x grass and 1x 3G state-of-the-art pitch (opened November 2019). The club has a long-standing relationship with the local secondary school Skerries Community College, formerly De La Salle Secondary College Skerries, where many past and current players attended. Leinster League Division Three is the third division of the Leinster League and started in the 1994/95 season. The number of teams was reduced from 14 to 13 in 2007/2008, and again from 13 to 9 in 2008/2009. Malahide Community School (MCS; ga, Pobalscoil Íosa) is a co-educational secondary school located in Malahide, County Dublin, Ireland. It accepts pupils of all religious denominations. The school grew from 512 students in 1976 to 1200 students by 2006, and remained at around 1200 as of 2018. History Foundation In the early 1950s, Catherine Dowling set up the ''Stella Maris School'' in Malahide village. In 1958, the Infant Jesus Sisters founded Scoil Íosa, a junior and secondary school for girls on what are now the grounds of Malahide Community School. The two schools were amalgamated. In 1976, the school joined the community school system which meant that it was no longer private, and became Pobalscoil Íosa. The school population at that time was just over 500. The club was founded in 1904 and was originally known as the Railway and Steam Packet Athletic and Social Union. Old Belvedere R.F.C. is a senior Irish rugby union club based on Anglesea Road in Ballsbridge, Dublin, Ireland. Old Belvedere was originally founded in 1918–19 by former pupils of Belvedere College. Old Belvedere enters senior men's teams in the All-Ireland League, the Leinster Senior League and the Leinster Senior Cup. In 2010–11 they were All-Ireland League champions. Between 1940 and 1946 the club won the Leinster Senior Cup seven times in a row. This remains a competition record. Balbriggan RFC
Balbriggan RFC is an Irish rugby team based at Bowhill, Balrothery just outside of Balbriggan town. They are a junior club and are currently playing in Division 2A of the Leinster League. The club colours are green and white. The club's women's team is currently in the Leinster League Division 2 The current president is Caroline McFadden 2019-2021 and the vice president is Leigh O'Toole 2019-2021. The club also has youths boys and girls teams as well as men's, women's, minis and special needs teams. In 2020 the club finally opened the long anticipated clubhouse.
