Mal Meninga Cup
The Mal Meninga Cup, known as the Auswide Bank Mal Meninga Cup due to sponsorship, is a junior rugby league football competition based in Queensland, played between teams made up of players aged under 18. The competition, administered by the Queensland Rugby League, features the junior representative teams of Queensland Cup clubs. Since 2011, the winners of the Grand Final play the winners of the New South Wales’ under-18 competition, the SG Ball Cup, in the National Final. The Mal Meninga Cup is named after Mal Meninga, a 32-game Queensland representative and the most successful State of Origin coach of all time. The Burleigh Bears are an Australian professional rugby league football club based in Gold Coast, Australia. They compete in Queensland's top rugby league competition, the Queensland Cup. Cairns (, ) is a city in Queensland, Australia, on the tropical north east coast of Far North Queensland. Northern Pride Rugby League Football Club is a Queensland rugby league club founded in 2007. Based in Cairns, Queensland they compete in the QRL State competition, the Hostplus Cup, formerly the Wizard Queensland Cup. The club represents Far North Queensland. History The Northern Pride was one of two expansion teams for the 2008 season of the QRL Wizard Queensland Cup, along with the Mackay Cutters, against whom they played their debut game. Both teams are feeder clubs to the North Queensland Cowboys. Cairns was represented in the QRL State Competition from 1996–2000 by the Cairns Cyclones, but a lack of support resulted in their withdrawal. The Mackay Cutters are a semi-professional rugby league football club based in Mackay, Queensland, Mackay, Queensland. They compete in Queensland's top rugby league competition, the Queensland Cup. North Ipswich Reserve presently known as Qld Group Stadium and formally Bendigo Bank Oval due to naming rights is a sports venue in Ipswich, Queensland. The Ipswich Jets are an Australian rugby league football club based in Ipswich, Queensland. Their name comes from nearby RAAF Base Amberley, one of the largest airbases in Australia. Browne Park is a rectangular football stadium located in the Rockhampton suburb of Wandal, Queensland, Australia.
