Desiya Makkal Sakthi Katchi is a political party in India founded by M.L.Ravi in 2014. It is the Tamil Nadu state Party. In the 2011 Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly election The Fourteenth Legislative Assembly Election was held on 13 April 2011 to elect members from 234 constituencies in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Results were released on 13 May 2011. Two major parties Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) and All In ..., Makkal Sakthi Katchi contested 35 constituencies in 18 districts. Some of the party's candidates were members of the anti-corruption non-government organisation 5th Pillar that gained attention by issuing zero rupee. 2011 Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly Election
The Fourteenth Legislative Assembly Election was held on 13 April 2011 to elect members from 234 constituencies in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Results were released on 13 May 2011. Two major parties Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) and All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) faced the election as coalitions of multiple political parties: DMK front consisted of 8 parties and the AIADMK of 11 parties. Vijayakanth's Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK), which had contested the previous elections independently, allied with the AIADMK coalition. Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam boycotted the election following a disagreement with Jayalalithaa over seat-sharing. Vijay Anand (: born 7 March 1969), is an anti-corruption activist from Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu, India. Anand formed the 5th Pillar organization whose goal is to fight corruption in Indian politics by fielding candidates who stand against corruption. Early life Vijay Anand was born on 7 March 1969 in Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu. Anand went to the Government College of Technology (GCT) Coimbatore, India and later was employed as a software engineer. 5th Pillar Anand formed the 5th Pillar organization in 2006 to fight against corruption in Indian politics. The organization's goal is to field candidates for the Parliament of India that take a stance against government corruption. The organization also plans to reach out to the segment of the population who abstain from voting due to the perceived lack of credible candidates.
