Makani Narayana Rao
Justice Makani Narayana "M. N." Rao (born 22 April 1936) is a former Chief Justice of Himachal Pradesh, and former chairman of the National Commission on Backward Classes. Rao enrolled as an advocate of the Andhra Pradesh High Court on 9 October 1961. He practiced before the court for more than 12 years, specializing in constitutional law. In 1979, Rao was appointed a legal secretary of the government of Andhra Pradesh, and was appointed a selection grade district judge on 25 July 1983. Rao became Chairman of the Sales Tax Appellate Tribunal on 1 July 1985. He was later appointed a permanent judge of the Andhra Pradesh High Court on 11 July 1986. The High Court of Andhra Pradesh is the High Court of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. The seat of the High Court is currently located at Nelapadu. History The High Court of Andhra Pradesh was established in the year 1954 when the state was formed from the earlier Madras Presidency. After the merger of the Hyderabad State with Andhra State to form the State of Andhra Pradesh, the Court initially continued at Guntur till 1956. Himachal Pradesh High Court
The Himachal Pradesh High Court is the High Court of the state of Himachal Pradesh. Himachal Pradesh was born as a result of integration of twenty six Province and four Punjab hill States into a Centrally Administered Area on 15 April 1948. The Central Government promulgated the Himachal Pradesh (Courts) Order, 1948 on 15 August 1948. As per Paragraph 3 of this Order, the Court of Judicial Commissioner was established for Himachal Pradesh and the Court was housed at "Harvingtan" (Kelston area, Bharari, Shimla).
