Majibur Rahman Sarwar is a Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) politician. He is the former mayor of Barisal City Corporation and former member of parliament for Barisal-5. Career Sarwar was elected to parliament from Barisal-5 as a Bangladesh Nationalist Party candidate in 1991, 1998, 2001, and 2008. He is the Joint Secretary General of Bangladesh Nationalist Party. Barisal City Corporation is a self-governed municipal administration in Bangladesh that administers and oversees development and maintenance works in the city of Barisal. Abdur Rahman Biswas
Abdur Rahman Biswas (1 September 1926 – 3 November 2017) was a Bangladeshi politician. He was the President of Bangladesh from 1991 to 1996. Biswas represented Pakistan at the United Nations General Assembly prior to the independence of Bangladesh. Early life and education Biswas was born in Shaistabad village, Barisal District. He was educated at the University of Dhaka, where he received BA with honours and an MA in history and a degree in law. His subsequent public service included chairing a local cooperative bank and sponsoring educational initiatives. He joined the legal profession in the 1950s. Biography Biswas was the fourth son of Abdur Rahman Biswas, former President of Bangladesh, and Hosne Ara Rahman Hosne Ara Rahman ( 1934 – 17 June 2017) was a Bangladeshi public figure, former First Lady of Bangladesh, and the wife of former President Abdur Rahman Biswas.
