Maintain (album)
''Maintain'' is the sixth studio album by American rapcore band downset. It was released on June 10, 2022, and is their first album on Nuclear Blast Records. It is the band's first album to feature bassist Phillip Gonzales and drummer Bobby Blood. Background In March 2020, downset. began to create a four-song demo. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the studio closed and meant the band's demos were trapped in the studio for three months. After restrictions lifted, the band was able to finish the demos. Upon receiving the demo, the band's manager at the time, Scott Koenig, shopped the demos around to Nuclear Blast, and helped negotiate a deal with the label in summer 2021, which guirarist Rogelino Lozano called "a great deal on an awesome label." Recording and composition After doing some pre-production at Downtown LA Rehearsal Studios (owned by Chris Poland), the band set to work in the studio with Terror drummer Nick Jett, with recording taking a total of three months. ... Howie Weinberg
Howie Weinberg is an American audio mastering engineer with over 2,257 mastering credits, three TEC Awards, 21 Grammy Awards, two Juno Awards, and one Mercury Prize. Career Weinberg mastered Herbie Hancock's 1983 album ''Future Shock''. Other mastering works include the Beastie Boys' ''Licensed to Ill'' and Nirvana's ''Nevermind''. Weinberg began working in the mail room at Masterdisk in 1979, delivering recording tapes in New York City. Mastering engineer Bob Ludwig acted as his mentor. In January 2011, he left Masterdisk to set up his own mastering company in Los Angeles, Howie Weinberg Mastering, which appeared in ''Voyage LA''s "Most Inspiring Stories" on February 11, 2021. "About Ta Blast" is the debut single by American rapcore band downset. It was released as a seven-inch single in August 1993 through Abstract Recordings. The song was later re-recorded for the band's self-titled debut album in 1994 under the spelling "About To Blast". In 2022, it was reissued with the demo version of "Breed The Killer" as a bonus track. Composition and lyrics "About Ta Blast" is a rapcore song. Drop C tuning is an alternative guitar tuning where at least one string has been lowered to a C, but most commonly refers to CGCFAD, which can be described as D tuning with a 6th string dropped to C, or drop D tuning transposed down a whole step.
