Bass Guitar Tuning
Each bass guitar tuning assigns pitches to the strings of an electric bass. Because pitches are associated with notes, bass-guitar tunings assign open notes to open strings. There are several techniques for accurately tuning the strings of an electric bass. Bass method or lesson books or videos introduce one or more tuning techniques, such as: * By ear to the sounded reference pitch of a piano, since a piano typically remains tuned much longer than a guitar, and electronic pianos are perpetually in tune. * By ear to the sound of a tuning fork or pitch pipe, which lets you get one pitch on one string correct. Then, use relative tuning (below) to adjust the other strings. * By ear to the sound of a guitar. On a four string bass guitar, its strings are pitched one octave lower than the four lowest pitched strings of a guitar. Tune them identically, without the octave interval, by pressing the 12th fret of each string on the bass. * By electric tuner, tuner app program on a sma ...

Anger / Ritual
"Anger" (also stylised as "Anger!") is a song by American rapcore band downset. It was first released independently as a 7-inch single on Abstract Recordings. The songs lyrics discuss the 1992 Los Angeles riots and police brutality, whilst criticising gang culture and racism. "Anger" was instrumental in the band attracting major label interest, and helped them get signed to Mercury Records, who re-released the song as the lead single of the band's 1994 self-titled debut album. Despite not having any chart success, it is regarded as the band's signature song. Composition and lyrics "The anger of a generation was being heard all over this world and I knew from this day on that the people of L.A. would never be the same after this. It was the beginning of the end. Anger. Anger. On April 29 of 1992 Love was gone and hatred in the hearts of man was more important than compassion." -Rey Oropeza"Anger" is a rapcore and nu metal song. The song is written in the key of C major with a ...

Area Codes 310 And 424
Area codes 310 and 424 are telephone area codes in the North American Numbering Plan (NANP) for the U.S. state of California. The numbering plan area includes the West Los Angeles and South Bay areas of Los Angeles County, a small portion of Ventura County, and Santa Catalina Island, which is located south. Area code 310 was created in a split from area code 213 on November 2, 1991. On January 25, 1997, area code 310 was split, creating area code 562 for the southeast portion of Los Angeles County and a large portion of Orange County. Area code 424 was added to the remaining numbering plan area on July 26, 2006, in an overlay plan, the first in California. Splits and overlay controversy Area code 562 was originally intended as an overlay code for cellular and pager services for the existing 310 area. The overlay was planned for late 1995, and was expected to extended over the 213 and 818 areas the following year. However, the plan was changed to a split of 310, when the Califo ...

Area Codes 213 And 323
Area codes 213 and 323 are telephone area codes in the North American Numbering Plan (NANP) for the U.S. state of California. They are assigned to a numbering plan area (NPA) that comprises, roughly, the area of central Los Angeles, and includes several Southeast LA communities, such as Bell and Huntington Park. The area codes designated separate NPAs starting in 1998, when 323 was added, but were combined in an overlay plan into a single NPA in 2017. Previously, just downtown Los Angeles and immediately adjoining neighborhoods were served by area code 213, and the rest of central Los Angeles used area 323. Area code 213 is one of the original area codes created with the NANP in 1947, and was split five times over the decades. History In 1947, when the American Telephone and Telegraph Company (AT&T) devised the initial form of the North American Numbering Plan, the state of California was divided into three numbering plan areas: 213, 415, and 916, for the southern, central, and ...

818 Area Code
Area codes 818 and 747 are area codes that primarily cover the San Fernando Valley region of Los Angeles County in the U.S. state of California. Area code 818 was created in a split from area code 213 on January 7, 1984. On June 14, 1997, area code 818 was split to form area code 626 for most of the San Gabriel Valley. On May 18, 2009, area code 747 went into service as an overlay. History After the standardization of American telephone area codes in 1947, almost all of Los Angeles County used the 213 area code. Because the population and phone usage of the Los Angeles metropolitan area greatly increased during the 1980s and 1990s, the 213 area code was split into several new area codes, including the 818 and 310 area codes. The 818 area code entered service on January 7, 1984, making Los Angeles one of the first major cities to be split between multiple area codes. Area code 626 was carved out of the eastern portion on June 14, 1997. In November 1999, it was proposed that "at ...

Barrio
''Barrio'' () is a Spanish language, Spanish word that means "Quarter (urban subdivision), quarter" or "neighborhood". In the modern Spanish language, it is generally defined as each area of a city, usually delimited by functional (e.g. residential, commercial, industrial, etc.), social, architectural or morphological features. In Spain, several Latin America, Latin American countries and the Philippines, the term may also be used to officially denote a division of a municipality. ''Barrio'' is an arabism (Classical Arabic ''barrī'': "wild" via Andalusian Arabic ''bárri'': "exterior"). Usage In Argentina and Uruguay, a ''barrio'' is a division of a municipality officially delineated by the local authority at a later time, and it sometimes keeps a distinct character from other areas (as in the Barrios and Communes of Buenos Aires, barrios of Buenos Aires even if they have been superseded by larger administrative divisions). The word does not have a special socioeconomic connotat ...

Ghetto
A ghetto, often called ''the'' ghetto, is a part of a city in which members of a minority group live, especially as a result of political, social, legal, environmental or economic pressure. Ghettos are often known for being more impoverished than other areas of the city. Versions of the ghetto appear across the world, each with their own names, classifications, and groupings of people. The term was originally used for the Venetian Ghetto in Venice, Italy, as early as 1516, to describe the part of the city where Jewish people were restricted to live and thus segregated from other people. However, early societies may have formed their own versions of the same structure; words resembling ''ghetto'' in meaning appear in Hebrew, Yiddish, Italian, Germanic, Old French, and Latin. During the Holocaust, more than 1,000 Nazi ghettos were established to hold Jewish populations, with the goal of exploiting and killing the Jews as part of the Final Solution.
