Mahshid Amirshahi ( fa, مهشید امیرشاهی; surname also Romanized as Amir-Shahy or Amirshahy; born 9 April 1937) is an Iranian novelist, short story writer, humorist, literary critic, journalist, and translator. Biography Amirshahi was born on 9 April 1937 in Kermanshah to Amir Amirshahi, a magistrate, and Moloud Khanlary, a political activist. Amirshahi attended primary and part of the secondary school in Tehran Iran and later went to Charters Towers, a private boarding school in Bexhill-on-Sea Sussex, England. After obtaining her O- and A-levels in various subject matters she studied physics at Woolwich Polytechnic in London. Mahshid Mirmoezzi
Mahshid Mirmoezzi ( fa, مهشید میرمعزی) is an Iranian translator from the German language. She has translated over 40 works into the Persian language. She has received several prizes, including the Parvin Award for her translation of Pascal Mercier's ''Night Train to Lisbon''. Biography Mahshid Mirmoezzi was born in Qazvin, Iran in 1962. She attended the University of Essen, Germany from 1985, obtaining a degree in environmental engineering. She returned to Iran in 1993. Mirmoezzi worked as a freelance journalist for various publications, including Hamshahri Monthly, Golagha and Rudaki. Her career as a translator began with Ruth Berlau's ''Brechts Lai-Tu'' in 1998. In 2002, her translation of Irvin D. Yalom's ''When Nietzsche Wept ''When Nietzsche Wept'' is a 2007 American art drama film directed by Pinchas Perry and starring Armand Assante, Ben Cross and Katheryn Winnick. Mahshid Moshiri ( fa, مهشید مشیری; born 21 March 1951) is an Iranian novelist and lexicographer. Youth and studies Mahshid Moshiri was born in Tehran, Iran on 21 March 1951. She graduated from the University of Sorbonne with a PhD in linguistics. She is the author of the first ''Persian Phono-Orthographic Dictionary''.
