Mahmoud Ismail
Mahmoud Ismail (1914–1983; ) was an Egyptian actor of stage and film, a screenplay writer, and a film director. Ismail worked on more than 40 film projects, including acting in some twenty five films and six television series. Biography Ismail began his artistic career as a theater actor in the Egyptian National Theatre Troupe. He was a Sufi, and had lived in the Al-Hussein neighborhood of Cairo. As an actor in film he frequently worked with film directors Ahmed Badrakhan, Niazi Mostafa, , and Hasan El-Saifi Hasan El-Saifi (; 1927–2005) was an Egyptian film director, film producer, and screenplay writer. The Kingdom of Egypt ( ar, المملكة المصرية, Al-Mamlaka Al-Miṣreyya, The Egyptian Kingdom) was the legal form of the Egyptian state during the latter period of the Muhammad Ali dynasty's reign, from the United Kingdom's recognition of Egyptian independence in 1922 until the abolition of the monarchy of Egypt and Sudan in 1953 following the Egyptian Revolution of 1952. Samara (1956 Film)
Samara () also known as Samarah, is a 1956 Egyptian musical action drama film, by director Hasan El-Saifi. Starring in the film is Taheyya Kariokka, Mahmoud Ismail, Muhsen Sarhan, Mohamed El Sebai, and Mahmoud Al Meleji. The plot of the film is about love and crime. A drug smuggler named Sultan (Mahmoud Ismail) fulls in love with a dancer named Samarah (Taheyya Kariokka), and she has no family. He marries her and she starts to work with him and his gang in the drug trade. One of the people in the gang is arrested by the police, causing a disruption for the remaining gang members. Hassan al-Imam ( ar, حسن الإمام; March 6, 1919 in Mansoura, Egypt – January 29, 1988) was a prominent Egyptian film director. ''Allah maana'' ( ar, الله معنا, lit. “God Is on Our Side”) is an Egyptian film released in 1955. Premiering on November 14 of that year, it was directed by Ahmed Badrakhan with a screenplay co-written by him and Ihsan Abdel Quddous and an all-star cast including Faten Hamama, Emad Hamdy, Magda al-Sabahi, and Mahmoud el-Meliguy. The film was censored to the point of almost preventing release, according to film critic and historian Aly Abou Shadi, over the portrayal of 1952 coup leader Mohammed Naguib.
