Maharishi (writer)
Maharishi is the pseudonym of T.K. Balasubramanian, a Tamil writer from Tamil Nadu, India. Many of his novels were made into films including the film Bhuvana Oru Kelvi Kuri (1977). Maharishi was born in Tanjore, but settled in Salem, Tamil Nadu. He worked as a clerk in the TNEB. His first novel ''Panimalai'' was made as film titled Ennathan Mudivu in 1965. Thanjavur (), also Tanjore, Pletcher 2010, p. 195 is a city in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Thanjavur is the 11th biggest city in Tamil Nadu. ''Nadhiyai Thedi Vandha Kadal'' () is a 1980 Tamil language film. The directorial debut of B. Lenin, it starred Jayalalithaa in the lead role, opposite actor Sarath Babu. ''Vattathukkul Chaduram'' () is a 1978 Indian Tamil-language film, directed by S. P. Muthuraman and produced by N. S. Mani. Based on the novel written by Maharishi, the film stars Latha, Sumithra, Srikanth and Sarath Babu. It depicts the depth of friendship shared between the characters Anu and Malathy. The Madras Presidency, or the Presidency of Fort St. George, also known as Madras Province, was an administrative subdivision (presidency) of British India. At its greatest extent, the presidency included most of southern India, including the whole of the Indian states of Tamil Nadu, Andhra state and some parts of Kerala, Karnataka, Odisha and the union territory of Lakshadweep. ''Bhadrakali'' () is a 1976 Indian Tamil-language psychological drama film starring Sivakumar and Rani Chandra. Produced and directed by A. C. Tirulokchandar, it is an adaptation of the 1976 novel of the same name written by Maharishi. The soundtrack and film score were composed by Ilaiyaraaja.
