Maha Al-Saati
Maha Al-Saati (also known as Maha Zeini Al-Saati, Arabic: مها الساعاتي) is a Saudi Arabian female filmmaker, university assistant professor and graduate of Simon Fraser University who has taught both in Vancouver, Canada and Saudi Arabia. Her academic research covers the representation of architectural spaces, education through the use of film, and the influence of religion and culture on media. She is also an alum of the TIFF filmmaker lab 2020, TIFF Writers Studio 2021, and recipient of the TIFF Share Her Journey award 2020. She is of mixed Arab and Uzbek heritage. Fantastic Fest is an annual film festival in Austin, Texas. Malmö Arab Film Festival (MAFF) is an Arab film festival based in Malmö, Sweden. MAFF is widely regarded as the most influential and largest Arabic film festival in Europe, and is the only one in Scandinavia. Mizna
Mizna is a nonprofit arts organization located in St. Paul, Minnesota. Founded in 1999, Mizna describes itself as “a critical platform for Arab and Southwest Asian and North African (SWANA) film, literature, and art.” Since 1999, Mizna has published a biannual literary journal, ''Mizna: Prose, Poetry and Art Exploring Arab America''. The HollyShorts Film Festival is an annual Academy Award®-qualifying independent short film festival located in Hollywood, California. The Bare Bones International Film and Music Festival was founded in 1999 by the Darkwood Film Arts Institute (DFAI) in the city of Muskogee, Oklahoma, United States to showcase independent motion picture projects with budgets of less than 1 million dollars (hence "bare bones"). The Red Sea International Film Festival ( ar, مهرجان البحر الأحمر السينمائي الدولي) is a film festival launched in 2019 and held in Jeddah, western Saudi Arabia.
