Magnar Isaksen
Magnar Nikolai Isaksen (13 October 1910 – 8 June 1979) was a Norwegian football (soccer) player who competed in the 1936 Summer Olympics. At club level, Isaksen represented Kristiansund FK and Lyn. Career Magnar Isaksen was born in Kristiansund. He was capped 14 times for Norway and scored five goals. Isaksen was selected in Norway's squad who competed in the 1936 Summer Olympics and won the bronze medal in the football tournament. He scored both Norway goals in the 2–0 win against Germany. Iskasen was injured in the semi-final against Italy and therefore did not play the bronze final. He won two consecutive Norwegian Cups with Lyn in 1945 and 1946. He also took part in the 1938 FIFA World Cup. Kristiansund (, ; historically spelled Christianssund and earlier named Fosna) is a municipality on the western coast of Norway in the Nordmøre district of Møre og Romsdal county. The 1938 FIFA World Cup was the third edition of the World Cup, the quadrennial international football championship for senior men's national teams and was held in France from 4 June until 19 June 1938. Italy defended its title in the final, beating Hungary 4–2. Italy's 1934 and 1938 teams hold the distinction of being the only men's national team to win the World Cup multiple times under the same coach, Vittorio Pozzo. It would be the last World Cup until 1950 due to the disruption from World War II. Host selection France was chosen as host nation by FIFA in Berlin on 13 August 1936.
