Magikland
Magikland is one of the theme parks in the Philippines. It is located in Silay, Negros Occidental. It is also known as the first outdoor theme park in the Visayas. The park is owned and operated by Aton Land and Leisure, Inc. History The theme park was founded by Atty. Simplicio Palanca, the chairman of the board of Aton Land and Leisure, Inc. Palanca was known as the "Mr. Showman" in the province, on account of his taste in the predilection towards the entertainment; in fact, Palanca owned theaters before. It was his dream to establish the theme park, to give happiness and entertainment to all the Negrosanons. Subsequently, Reynaldo Bantug, president of the Aton Land and Leisure Inc., former 3rd District Representative Albee Benitez, Willy Au, and others, helped Palanca to build the first Filipino Theme Park in the country. 2020 Metro Manila Film Festival
The 2020 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) is the 46th edition of the annual Metro Manila Film Festival. It is organized by the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA). It is the first edition of the festival to be held online due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and also the first to make its entries available to an audience outside the Philippines as part of the festival's official run. Impact of the COVID-19 pandemic Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020 Metro Manila Film Festival was modified into a digital event. The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) announced on November 24, 2020, that the film festival would go digital due to the government implementation community quarantine classifications in the Metro area, in partnership with Upstream and GMovies, a streaming provider and ticket provider respectively, to stream the official entries. Alfredo Abelardo "Albee" Bantug Benitez (born December 20, 1966) is a Filipino-American businessman and politician serving as the City Mayor of Bacolod since 2022.
