Mads Eriksen (musician)
Mads Eriksen (born 12 October 1962 in Bergen, Norway) is a Norwegian guitarist and composer, known as solo artist and for his collaboration with Chris Thompson among others. (in Norwegian) Biography Eriksen was born in Bergen and picked up the guitar at twelve, and started the band "Lorraine" in 1976 together with schoolmates (including keyboardist Hans-Petter Isaksen & bassist Roar Nilson) from Nattland primary school. He got the role as "local guitar hero" inspired by Jimi Hendrix and Stones guitarist Keith Richards, playing at school dances. He continued appearing in various local bands, including "Sharks & Whales" (the continuation of "Lorraine" now including Hans-Petter Isaksen & bassist Ole Vaksdal) with the album ''Reaped by Man'' released in 1988. Bergen
Bergen (), historically Bjørgvin, is a city and municipality in Vestland county on the west coast of Norway. , its population is roughly 285,900. Bergen is the second-largest city in Norway. TNT (Norwegian Band)
TNT is a Norwegian heavy metal band from Trondheim, formed in 1982. The band has released fourteen studio albums, three EPs and four live albums while going through numerous line-up changes since its formation. Guitarist Ronni Le Tekrø is the only consistent member of TNT. TNT has sold between 4-5 million albums worldwide as of 2016. John Magnar Bernes
John Magnar Bernes, alias Hungry John, (born 10 May 1951) is a Norwegian musician (harmonica and vocals). Biography Bernes was born in Bergen, Norway, and is best known as a member and founder of the blues band Bergen Blues Band (1974–84), performing at the Nattjazz in 1975. There after he formed the band 'Hungry John and the Blue Shadows', which is still going strong. In 2009 he reunited Bergen Blues Band and released a new album with a compilation of their best songs. Sometime in the 1960s came Bernes started listening to some blue albums. He started playing the harmonica while listening to records of Muddy Waters, Sonny Boy Williamson, Little Walter, Sonny Terry, Paul Butterfield, John Mayall among others. His greatest inspiration was, and still is, Muddy Waters, and in 1966 he initiated his first band 'Green Onions', playing blues and soul music. Major Parkinson is a Norwegian rock group currently based in Bergen. History Major Parkinson was started in 2003 by Jon Ivar Kollbotn, Eivind Gammersvik, André Lund and Jan Are Rønhovde. In the same year, they won the Eggstock festival in Bergen, as well as the local band competition finals in Zoom. In the summer of 2006, Major Parkinson was invited to record a debut album in the Radio Star Studios by producer Sylvia Massy, who also has worked with artists such as Red Hot Chili Peppers, Tool, Johnny Cash, System Of A Down, Seigmen and Animal Alpha.
