Madrid–Toledo High-speed Rail Line
The LAV Madrid-Toledo is a Spanish high-speed rail line that connects the cities of Madrid and Toledo, a distance of approximately . The service was inaugurated in 2005. Route The route shares the first with the Madrid–Seville high-speed rail line. From La Sagra trains for Toledo travel on a dedicated branch line of to the terminus in Toledo. The trip takes thirty minutes. Features The new portion of the line was designed to support maximum speeds of 270 km/h, which is also the maximum speed allowed by ''the common core'' shared with the LAV Madrid-Sevilla/Málaga. Like all Spanish ''LAV's'', the line has a track gauge of and is electrified at 25 kV AC. ''Alta Velocidad Española'' (''AVE'') is a service of high-speed rail in Spain operated by Renfe, the Spanish national railway company, at speeds of up to . As of December 2021, the Spanish high-speed rail network, on part of which the AVE service runs, is the longest HSR network in Europe with and the second longest in the world, after China's. AVE trains run on a network of high-speed rail track owned and managed by ADIF (''Administrador de Infraestructuras Ferroviarias''), where other high speed (, Alvia, Avlo) and mid-speed ( Altaria) services also operate. Madrid–Seville High-speed Rail Line
The Madrid–Sevilla high-speed line (NAFA or ''Nuevo Acceso Ferroviario a Andalucía'') is a Spanish railway line for high-speed traffic between Madrid and Seville. The first Spanish high-speed rail connection has been in use since 21 April 1992 at speeds up to 300 km/h (186 mph). Travel time between the two end points was reduced by over half. At Córdoba the Madrid–Málaga high-speed rail line leaves the line from Madrid. At Seville the line is extended to Cádiz only for the Alvia service. Routing The line starts at Madrid-Atocha and runs over 31 bridges (total length ) and through 17 tunnels (total length , crossing the plains of the southern half of the Inner Plateau. It climbs south of Toledo as well as when crossing the Sierra Morena to an altitude of 800 meters, and then descends to around sea level as it approaches Seville. La Sagra is a Castilian comarca delineated by natural formations but not legally recognized. The comarca includes localities belonging to both the province of Madrid and the province of Toledo. La Sagra covers an area of 1322 km2, and is bordered by the Guadarrama River and the Tagus. Neo-Mudéjar
Neo-Mudéjar is a type of Moorish Revival architecture practised in the Iberian Peninsula and to a far lesser extent in Ibero-America. This architectural movement emerged as a revival of Mudéjar style. It was an architectural trend of the late 19th and early 20th centuries that began in Madrid and Barcelona and quickly spread to other regions in Spain and Portugal. It used Mudéjar style elements such as the horseshoe arch, arabesque tiling, and abstract shaped brick ornamentations for the façades of modern buildings. History The first examples of Neo-Mudéjar buildings were the Aguirre School designed by Rodríguez Ayuso, the Plaza de Toros in Madrid built in 1874 (now demolished), and the Casa Vicens by Antoni Gaudí i Cornet.
