Madongchuan
Madongchuan () is a town in Baota District, Yan'an, Shaanxi, China. The town spans an area of , and has a population of 6,544 as of 2010. History Manmade grottoes dating back to the Song dynasty have been found in Madongchuan. The Shiyaowan Grotto () contains a number of Buddha statues (many of which have now been partially or completed destroyed), and inscriptions dating back to the late 11th century. On the evening of February 18, 1935, as part of the Chinese Civil War, forces of the Chinese Red Army clashed with 50 soldiers, aligned with Chiang Kai-Shek's Nationalist government, in the village of Jinpenwan (). Baota District

The 2010 Chinese census, officially the Sixth National Population Census of the People's Republic of China (中華人民共和國第六次全國人口普查), was conducted by the National Bureau of Statistics of the People's Republic of China with a zero hour of November 1, 2010. Nanniwan, Baota District
Nanniwan () is a town in Baota District, Yan'an, Shaanxi, China. The town is a significant site for red tourism in China. Nanniwan spans an area of , and has a population of 15,334 as of 2015. History In 1941, the 359th Brigade of the Eighth Route Army arrived in Nanniwan, and established themselves in the town.
