Madeline Schizas
Madeline Schizas (born February 14, 2003) is a Canadian figure skater. She is a two-time ISU Challenger Series bronze medalist, the 2020 International Challenge Cup bronze medalist, and a two-time Canadian national champion (2022, 2023), and represented Canada at the 2022 Winter Olympics. Personal life Schizas was born on February 14, 2003, in Oakville, Ontario. She is the daughter of economist Linda Nazareth, and former broadcaster Lou Schizas. Her mother is of Indian Canadian ancestry while her father is Greek Canadian. Schizas attended White Oaks Secondary School in Oakville. She was accepted to study music cognition at the University of Waterloo beginning in the fall of 2021 and stated her long-term aim was to become a physician. 2020 Canadian Figure Skating Championships
The 2020 Canadian Tire National Skating Championships were held on January 13–19, 2020, in Mississauga, Ontario. Medals were awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, women's singles, pair skating, and ice dance on the senior, junior, and novice levels. Although the official International Skating Union terminology for female skaters in the singles category is ''ladies'', Skate Canada uses ''women'' officially. The results were part of the Canadian selection criteria for the 2020 World Championships, the 2020 Four Continents Championships, and the 2020 World Junior Championships. Mississauga was announced as the host in January 2019. The city previously hosted the event in 2013 and has also previously hosted Skate Canada International four times (2000, 2003, 2011, and 2016). Lou Schizas is best known for his work as an equities analyst for the Canadian specialty channel BNN: Business News Network (formerly Report on Business Television) since its launch in September 1999 until August 24, 2007. He was also a daily contributor to national network CTV’s morning flagship program, ''Canada AM''. Joannie Rochette
Joannie Rochette (born January 13, 1986) is a Canadian physician and retired competitive figure skater. She is the 2010 Olympic bronze medallist, the 2009 World silver medallist, the 2008 and 2009 Four Continents silver medallist, the 2004 Grand Prix Final bronze medallist, and a six-time (2005–10) Canadian national champion. Career Rochette was born January 13, 1986 in Montreal, Quebec. She was raised in La Visitation-de-l'Île-Dupas.
