Made (band)
Made (stylized as MAdE) was a lo-fi pop band from Toronto, Ontario, Canada, active during the 1990s. Its members were Jason Taylor (lead vocals and guitar), Simon Bedford-James (guitar), Alison McLean (drums), and three different successive bass guitarists: John Bowker, later replaced by Scott Fairbrother, who was in turn replaced by Frank Guidoccio. History Made began performing at clubs in Toronto in 1994, and recorded two independent albums: ''Rumball'' and ''Big Brother''. The first of these was released in late 1993 and cost about $300 to record. In 1995, they landed a deal with MCA Records. This resulted in MCA releasing their third album and major-label debut, ''Bedazzler'', on January 28, 1997 in Canada. The album was re-released on January 29, 1997 on Universal Music Canada, and on May 20, 1997 on MCA in the United States. Lo-fi Music
Lo-fi (also typeset as lofi or low-fi; short for low fidelity) is a music or production quality in which elements usually regarded as imperfections in the context of a recording or performance are present, sometimes as a deliberate choice. The standards of sound quality (fidelity) and music production have evolved throughout the decades, meaning that some older examples of lo-fi may not have been originally recognized as such. Lo-fi began to be recognized as a style of popular music in the 1990s, when it became alternately referred to as DIY music (from "do it yourself"). Harmonic distortion and " analog warmth" are sometimes confused as core features of lo-fi music. MCA Records
MCA Records was an American record label owned by MCA Inc., which later became part of Universal Music Group. Pre-history MCA Inc., a powerful talent agency and a television production company, entered the recorded music business in 1962 with the purchase of the New York-based US Decca Records (established in 1934), including Coral Records and Brunswick Records. MCA was forced to exit the talent agency business in order to complete the merger. As American Decca owned Universal Pictures, MCA assumed full ownership of Universal and made it into a top film studio, producing several hits. Sun-Sentinel
The ''Sun Sentinel'' (also known as the ''South Florida Sun Sentinel'', known until 2008 as the ''Sun-Sentinel'', and stylized on its masthead as ''SunSentinel'') is the main daily newspaper of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, as well as surrounding Broward County and southern Palm Beach County. It circulates all throughout the three counties that comprise South Florida. It is the largest-circulation newspaper in the area. Paul Pham has held the position of general manager since November 2020, and Julie Anderson has held the position of editor-in-chief since February 2018.
