Maddogs München
The Maddogs München was an ice hockey team in Munich, Germany. The club played in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga for the 1994–95 season before folding. History The EHC 70 München was a hockey club, which was founded 1970 and operational until 1982. The club took over the ice hockey department of Münchner EV in 1976. The senior team played the 1980–81 season in the Eishockey-Bundesliga but was relegated in February 1982 to the second division. A new club, EC Hedos München, was founded at 1982 and started to participate in competitions in 1983–84 jointly with the SC München. After the 1983–84 season, the club took over the youth teams of SC München whereas the senior team of the club continued playing as USC München. The senior team of EC Hedos was promoted in 1989 to the Eishockey-Bundesliga. The club won the German championship in 1994. Gordon Sherven
Gordon R. Sherven (born August 21, 1963) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey forward. He played 97 games in the National Hockey League with the Edmonton Oilers, Minnesota North Stars, and Hartford Whalers between 1984 and 1988. He later moved to Germany and played there from 1988 to 2000. Internationally Sherven played for the Canadian national team at the 1983 World Junior and senior World Championships, as well as the 1988 Winter Olympics. Playing career Sherven was born in Gravelbourg, Saskatchewan and raised in Mankota, Saskatchewan. He was selected by the Edmonton Oilers in the tenth round of the 1981 NHL Entry Draft. Tobias Abstreiter (born July 6, 1970) is a German former ice hockey centre. During his playing career he was described as a two-way player and a faceoff specialist. Professional career He started his career in 1987-88 with EV Landshut, playing there for six seasons until moving to EC Hedos München in 1993-94 and, in mid-season, to the Kölner Haie in 1994-95, playing on two consecutive championship teams. In 1997, he moved to TSV Erding for one season before transferring to the Kassel Huskies where he would go on to captain the team. Dieter Hegen (born April 29, 1962 in Kaufbeuren, West Germany) is a retired professional ice hockey player who played in the Eishockey-Bundesliga and its replacement the Deutsche Eishockey Liga. Playing career Hegen began playing for his hometown ESV Kaufbeuren in 1979. Hegen was drafted 46th overall by the Montreal Canadiens in the 1981 NHL Entry Draft but never signed a contract and remained with Kaufbeuren until 1985 when he joined Kölner EC, winning the Bundesliga championship in 1987 and 1988. In 1989 he moved to for Düsseldorfer EG and in a three-year spell he won three more Bundesliga titles. In 1992, he joined EC Hedos München and won his sixth and final Bundesliga title with the team in 1994, which turned out to be the last year of the Ice Hockey Bundesliga as it was replaced with the Deutsche Eishockey Liga.
