Madan Maharaj FC is an Indian professional football club based in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. It is also first professional football club from the state. They currently compete in Madhya Pradesh Premier League and were part of 2021 I-League Qualifiers. History Formation and journey The club was founded in 1992. They participated in the 24th Bodofa Upen Brahma All India Gold Cup football tournament and reached the semi-finals. Present years In 2018, Madan Maharaj FC was keen to participate in the 2nd Division and was nominated by Madhya Pradesh Football Association, but couldn't participate in the league. Madan Maharaj became champions of Madhya Pradesh Premier League onaugural season in 2021, by defeating Lions Club FC of Jabalpur in the final match, by a margin of 2–0. They scored first goal in 34th minute and increased the lead in 88th minute. Tatya Tope Nagar Sports Complex Bhopal is a multi-purposed stadium in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, India. Directorate Sports & Youth Welfare is located at the stadium. The stadium is the base of Boxing Academy, Madhya Pradesh State Men's Hockey Academy, Madhya Pradesh State Equestrian Academy, Madhya Pradesh State Shooting Academy, Madhya Pradesh State Water Sports Academy and DSYW Academy. Stadium is one of the stadiums in Madhya Pradesh with a multi-purpose hall and an Olympic swimming pool among the facilities offered. I-League 2, previously known as I-League 2nd Division and officially known as or Hero I-League 2 (for sponsorship ties with Hero MotoCorp), is an Indian men's professional football league. It is the 3rd tier of Indian football, behind Indian Super League and I-League. It operates as a system of promotion with I-League (final qualifying phase of state leagues teams). In 2020, due to COVID-19 pandemic in India, the league format was changed into I-League Qualifiers. Mehtab Hossain (born 5 September 1985) is an Indian professional footballer and coach who last played for Madan Maharaj as a defensive midfielder.
