Mackville is an unincorporated community in Outagamie County, Wisconsin, United States. It is located in the town of Center, three miles north of the City of Appleton. It is a part of the Appleton, Wisconsin Metropolitan Statistical Area, which is a part of the Fox Cities metropolitan area. Mackville is the location of the Mackville Nationals Truck and Tractor Pull. Education Mackville has one school, a parochial school. Saint Edward's School serves as a preschool for the area. State Trunk Highway 47 (often called Highway 47, STH-47 or WIS 47) is a state highway in the northeastern and northern parts of the US state of Wisconsin that runs in a diagonal northwest–southeast from Menasha to Manitowish. Route description The southern terminus of WIS 47 is at WIS 114 at the corner of Third and De Pere streets in Menasha. Of the route, about are cosigned with other highways. Area code 920 is a telephone area code in the North American Numbering Plan (NANP) for a large area of eastern Wisconsin. It was created on July 26, 1997, in a split from area code 414, which formerly served the entire eastern third of the state. 920 is scheduled to be overlaid with area code 274 on May 5, 2023. In 2008, service providers recognized the need for a second area code for northeastern Wisconsin, leading the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin to approve an overlay plan with new area code 274. However, the Great Recession, number porting, a decline in landlines, and other factors delayed that requirement for fifteen years during which implementation was deferred several times. The unincorporated communities of Center Valley, Five Corners, Hamples Corner, Mackville, and Twelve Corners are located in the town. History The Town of Center began as the Town of Lansing, organized on September 12, 1849. It included the modern day areas of the towns of Freedom and Center, and "territory lying to the north that was sparsely settled".
