Machinefabriek is the musical nom de plume of musician/sound artist and graphic designer Rutger Zuydervelt from the Netherlands. Biography Rutger Zuydervelt was born on 28 July 1978 in Apeldoorn, Netherlands. He started working as Machinefabriek in 2004. Except for a few piano and guitar lessons when he was young, Zuydervelt didn’t study music. He graduated as a graphic designer. The sleeves of his releases are practically always designed by Zuydervelt himself, being a crucial part of the music. Machinefabriek’s music combines elements of ambient, modern classical music, minimalism, drone, field recordings and lowercase. His pieces unfold as ‘films without image’, with a sharp ear for detail. After releasing a series of self-released CD-Rs, the official debut, ‘Marijn’, was issued by Lampse in 2006. Biography Romke Kleefstra was born on 28 July 1972 in Akkrum, Netherlands. Celer was an American drone music project formed in 2005 by composer and musician Will Long and Danielle Baquet-Long, and concluded in 2022. History Founded in 2005, at the beginning of their relationship in Huntington Beach, California, U.S.A., Celer was created as a musical and artistic collaboration between Danielle Baquet-Long and Will Long. Stephen Vitiello is an American visual and sound artist. Originally a punk guitarist he is influenced by video artist Nam June Paik who he worked with after meeting in 1991. He has collaborated with Pauline Oliveros, Robin Rimbaud (aka Scanner) and Frances-Marie Uitti; as well as visual artists Julie Mehretu, Tony Oursler and Joan Jonas. WORM is a Rotterdam based non-profit foundation and a multi-media alternative cultural centre focused on experimental, new media art, avant-garde and underground art, primarily music and movies. Steve Roden is an American sound and visual artist, who pioneered the lowercase style of music; where quiet, usually unheard, sounds are amplified to form complex and rich soundscapes. Simon Scott (drummer)
Simon Scott (born 3 March 1971) is an English musician, best known as the drummer in Slowdive and formerly of Lowgold and The Charlottes. He also fronted Inner Sleeve/Televise, and has released ambient music as a solo artist. Career Born in Cambridge, Scott first started drumming with female fronted Huntingdon band The Charlottes in 1987 at the age of 16, having recorded two studio tracks a year earlier as part of Honey Chainsaw. He left the Charlottes in 1990 to replace original drummer Adrian Sell in Slowdive who supported them in London at The White Horse in Hampstead. He played on albums ''Just for a Day'' and ''Souvlaki'', which was voted in ''The Guardian'' as "One of the top 50 albums to hear before you die" in 2007.
