The family Pseudopomyzidae comprises minute to small (1.7-5.5 mm), dark-coloured acalyptrate flies; formerly they have been treated as a subfamily of CypselosomatidaeCarvalho-Filho, Fernando da Silva, & Esposito, Maria Cristina.
