''MX Superfly featuring Ricky Carmichael'', released as ''MX Super Fly'' in PAL regions, is a motorcross racing game developed by Pacific Coast Power & Light and published by THQ for the Xbox, PlayStation 2, and GameCube. It is the second installment of THQ's ''MX'' trilogy and a sequel to ''MX 2002 featuring Ricky Carmichael'', garnering professional motorcross racer Ricky Carmichael's endorsement like its predecessor. THQ released a third ''MX'' game in 2004, titled '' MX Unleashed'' and developed by its newly acquired subsidiary Rainbow Studios, the eventual creator of the ''MX vs. ATV'' series that serves as a crossover with Sony's ''ATV Offroad Fury'' series. Locomotive Games, Inc. (formerly known as Pacific Coast Power & Light) was an American video game company based in Santa Clara, California. The studio was owned by THQ, the studio developed games for a variety of game machines and consoles, while also working on several of THQ's major licenses and franchises. History The company was founded in December 1997 as Don Traeger Productions Inc. (with the trade name DT Productions) by Don Traeger (founder of EA Sports and BMG Interactive) and Dennis Harper (former executive of Atari Games). The company was acquired by THQ in 1999 for a total of $13 million. The studio was renamed to Locomotive Games in April 2005. The company was closed by THQ in 2008. GameSpy was an American provider of online multiplayer and matchmaking middleware for video games founded in 1996 by Mark Surfas. FuncoLand was an American video game retailer based in Eden Prairie, Minnesota, that specialized in selling new and used video game software. It is considered the first major video game retailer to allow consumers to sell and trade used video games. The chain's parent company Funco Inc. was established in the home of David R. Pomije in 1988, initially as a leaser of video games to video stores, and then as a mail-order business specializing in used video games.
