MTV was a pan-Asian music pay-television channel which launched on 3 May 1995 as a standalone pay television channel. It was owned by Paramount Networks EMEAA. History MTV Asia was officially launched on 3 May 1995 as a 24-hour English-language channel broadcast from Singapore seen throughout Southeast Asia in territories including Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. MTV Asia along with its sister channel MTV Indonesia was launched on the Palapa C2 digital satellite. MTV has partnered with domestic media companies to produce local-language content for its channels in Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam. MTV Asia On Demand is an all-time music and entertainment channel with up to 100 hours/year of on-demand MTV Asia content. The OTT service is currently available in Singapore only. MTV India
MTV India is an Indian pay television channel specialising in music, reality and youth culture programming. It was launched in 1996 as the Indian version of MTV and is owned by Viacom 18, a joint venture operation between MTV International owner Paramount Global and Reliance Industries' TV18. Most of the programming on the channel is produced in Hindi. MTV India has its headquarters in Vile Parle in Mumbai. MTV Mandarin is a 24-hour music channel that airs Chinese and international music programs owned by Paramount Networks EMEAA. One of the first three MTV Asia channels along with MTV Asia and MTV India. MTV Mandarin has two different feeds (Taiwan & China). The channel broadcasts in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Indonesia. After 18 years of broadcasting, MTV China and Comedy Central Asia ceased transmission on 1 February 2021.
