MS Diana
MS ''Rahal'' was a car-passenger ferry owned by Bayway Shipping Co and sailing on the Red Sea. She was built in 1972 by Meyer Werft, Papenburg, Germany as ''Diana'' for Rederi AB Slite and later she was named ''Botnia Express'', ''Alandia'', ''Jamaa II'' and ''Rahal''. Historyk Viking Line service ''Diana'' was the fourth in a series of six near-identical sisters built between 1970 and 1974 for Rederi Ab Sally and Rederi AB Slite for use in Viking Line traffic (three further ships were built by the shipyard for Transbordadores, Mexico). These so-called Papenburg Sisters were highly influential in defining ferry traffic between Finland and Sweden. Although often officially listed as fully owned by Rederi AB Slite, ''Diana'' was actually owned jointly by Rederi Ab Volo, Rederi AB Slite, Simsonship Ab, Ivar Sund Lidingö and Ab Nils Thorwaldsson Saltsjöbaden. Kapellskär () is a port about north of Stockholm, in Sweden. It is located by the Baltic Sea, in Norrtälje Municipality, Stockholm County. Naantali (; sv, Nådendal) is a town in southwestern Finland, and, as a resort town during the summer, an important tourist centre of the country. Rederi Ab Sally was a Finnish shipping company founded in 1937 by Algot Johansson. Originally a tanker operator, Sally became a dominant member of the Viking Line shipping consortium in the 1970s. The company met bad times in the 1980s and was bought by its rivals Effoa and Johnson Line (owners of Silja Line) in 1987.
