MFÖ
Mazhar-Fuat-Özkan (MFÖ), also known by their original name Mazhar ve Fuat, is a Turkish pop and rock band with Mazhar Alanson, Fuat Güner and Özkan Uğur as members. While many of their songs poke fun at common Turkish types ("Ali Desidero", "Piskopatım") or satirise prejudice and corruption ("Deli Deli", "Rüşvet"), others are more spiritual in nature, showing their interest in Sufism ("Sufi", "Ateş-i Aşka"). In 1965, Mazhar Alanson and Fuat Güner first met at a record shop when Alanson saw Güner with a Beatles record in his hand and offered then a stranger Güner to listen the record together. Alanson and Güner would then start to work together and play in the Turkish band, Kaygısızlar, which includes other well known Turkish musicians like Ali Serdar, Semih Oksay, Fikret Kızılok, and Barış Manço. Mazhar Alanson
Mahmut Mazhar Alanson (born February 13, 1950) is a Turkish musician, guitarist, member of the popular Turkish pop music band MFÖ, and an actor. Early life He was born on February 13, 1950, to a family of musicians in Ankara, Turkey, where his father was the head trumpeter in the State Philharmonic Orchestra. He continued Kadıköy Anadolu Lisesi which is also commonly known as Kadıköy Maarif College for his high school education in Istanbul following his father's death. After the high school, he attended the State Conservatory in Ankara and graduated in performing arts, in particular (theater). Career He started playing the guitar during his high school years. In 1966, Mazhar formed the band ''Kaygısızlar'' ("The Carefree") along with Fuat Güner and Sadik Kuyas. Özkan Uğur
Raif Özkan Uğur (born October 17, 1953) is a Turkish pop musician, member of the renowned band MFÖ and an actor. He was born as the 5th child of his family. He graduated Reşat Nuri Güntekin Primary School where he met and started playing mandolin. Afterwards, while he was studying in Fenerbahçe High School, he formed a band called '' Atomikler'' and covered popular songs of the time. He started his career as a musician in the Şerif Yüzbaşıoğlu Orchestra as a bass guitarist. In 1971, Özkan joined Mazhar Alanson and Fuat Güner in the duo "Kaygısızlar" ("The Unworrieds") The band was dissolved in 1972. Aziz Fuat Güner (born 1 April 1948), better known as Fuat Güner, is a Turkish pop musician, member of the renowned band MFÖ and an actor. Early life He was born on 1 April 1948 in Istanbul, Turkey to a renowned photographer father, Sami Güner. He is of partial Albanian descent. During his school years at St. Joseph High School in Istanbul, he was a very active sportsman, playing football, volleyball and sailing. He became a champion in the 400 m category of college athletics in Turkey. After high school, he was trained as a civil engineer at the State Architectural Academy of Istanbul. Turkey was represented in the Eurovision Song Contest 1988 by a music trio named Mazhar Fuat Özkan (names of the members) with the song "Sufi", written and composed by the trio. Before Eurovision 12. Eurovision Şarkı Yarışması Türkiye Finali The national final featured songs written by seventeen composers directly invited by TRT. However, Attila Özdemiroğlu, one of the invited composers, did not submit a song for unknown reasons. The final took place on 13 February 1988 at the TRT Studios in Ankara, hosted by Canan Kumbasar. Seyyal Taner
Seyyal Taner (born September 28, 1952) is a Turkish singer and actress. Early life and career beginnings Taner was born in Şanlıurfa, Turkey and later moved to Istanbul with her family. She graduated from the Amerikan Kız Lisesi. She received vocal training from Şerif Yüzbaşıoğlu in 1965 and started to sing as an amateur with the Kanat Gür Orkestrası. In 1968 Los Bravos played in Istanbul and, having caught her act, offered Taner a role in a Spanish musical. Whilst promoting in Spain, she attracted the attention of Paramount Pictures and was offered a small part in ''Villa Rides''. On returning to Turkey, Taner continued her acting career until she left for Germany and marriage to Peter Harold, Los Bravos's guitarist.
