MAC-Forced Forwarding
MAC-Forced Forwarding (MACFF) is used to control unwanted broadcast traffic and host-to-host communication. This is achieved by directing network traffic from hosts located on the same subnet but at different locations to an upstream gateway device. This provides security at Layer 2 since no traffic is able to pass directly between the hosts. MACFF is suitable for Ethernet networks where a layer 2 bridging device, known as an Ethernet Access Node (EAN), connects Access Routers to their clients. MACFF is configured on the EANs. MACFF is described in RFC 4562, MAC-Forced Forwarding: A Method for Subscriber Separation on an Ethernet Access Network. Allied Telesis switches implement MACFF using DHCP snooping to maintain a database of the hosts that appear on each switch port. When a host tries to access the network through a switch port, DHCP snooping checks the host’s IP address against the database to ensure that the host is valid. MACFF then uses DHCP snooping to check whether ...

Molecular Frontiers Foundation
The Molecular Frontiers Foundation (MFF) was founded under the auspices of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences in 2007 by Bengt Nordén, a professor of physical chemistry at Chalmers University of Technology in Sweden and the former chair of the Nobel Committee for Chemistry. Part of the mission of MFF according to Nordén is to counter the "increasingly bad image that chemistry has in society" and the "decreasing interest in science by the young generation". Founding members of Molecular Frontiers Foundation include Magdalena Eriksson, Lorie Karnath,(founder Molecular Frontiers Journal), Shuguang Zhang (MIT). The MFF counts eleven Nobel Laureates amongst its 29-member Scientific Advisory Board. It holds a number of international symposia around the world. MFF (gene)
Mitochondrial fission factor (Mff) is a protein that in humans is encoded by the ''MFF'' gene. Its primary role is in controlling the division of mitochondria. It has also been shown to regulate peroxisome morphology. Role in mitochondrial fission Mff is an outer mitochondrial membrane protein that binds to the GTPase Drp1 Dynamin-1-like protein is a GTPase that regulates mitochondrial fission. In humans, dynamin-1-like protein, which is typically referred to as dynamin-related protein 1 (Drp1), is encoded by the ''DNM1L'' gene and is part of the dynamin superfamily ...; the Mff-Drp1 complex is what promotes mitochondrial fission. Knockdown of Mff causes the mitochondrial network to expand (by releasing the Drp1 foci from the outer mitochondrial membrane), while Mff overexpression causes it to become fragmented (by stimulating mitochondrial recruitment of Drp1). Technically the actual physical card is known as a universal integrated circuit card (UICC); this smart card is usually made of PVC with embedded contacts and semiconductors, with the SIM as its primary component. In practise the term "SIM card" refers to the entire unit and not simply the IC. A SIM contains a unique serial number (ICCID), international mobile subscriber identity (IMSI) number, security authentication and ciphering ...
