The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine ( uk, Міністерство закордонних справ України) is the ministry of the Ukrainian government that oversees the foreign relations of Ukraine. The head of the ministry is the Minister of Foreign Affairs. History Originally, the ministry was established as the General Secretariat of Nationalities as part of the General Secretariat of Ukraine and was headed by the federalist Serhiy Yefremov. Due to the Soviet intervention, the office was reformed into a ministry on December 22, 1917. About the same time, another government was formed (the Soviet) that proclaimed the Ukrainian government to be counter-revolutionary. The Ukrainian Soviet government also reorganized its office on March 1, 1918. In 1923, the office was liquidated by the government of the Soviet Union and reinstated in 1944, twenty years later. The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine ( uk, Верхо́вна Ра́да Украї́ни, translit=, Verkhovna Rada Ukrainy, translation=Supreme Council of Ukraine, Ukrainian abbreviation ''ВРУ''), often simply Verkhovna Rada or just Rada, is the unicameral parliament of Ukraine. Volodymyr Chekhivsky
Volodymyr Musiyovych Chekhivsky ( uk, Володимир Мусійович Чехівський; russian: Владимир Моисеевич Чеховский; July 19, 1876 in Kiev Governorate – November 3, 1937 in Sandarmokh) was a Ukrainian political and public activist, prime minister of the Ukrainian People's Republic, member of the Russian State Duma, one of founders of the Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church. Vsevolod Oleksandrovych Holubovych ( uk, Всеволод Олександрович Голубович; February 1885 – 16 May 1939) was the Prime Minister of the Ukrainian People's Republic from January to March 1918. Early period Holubovych was born in the village of Poltavka, Baltsky Uyezd, Podolia Governorate. Sergei Segeyevich Bakinsky (russian: Серге́й Серге́евич Бакинский) was a Bolshevik politician, revolutionary, the first People's Commissar of Ukrainian People's Republic of Soviets on nationalities. Biography Bakinsky was born in Riga, Russian Empire in a family of middle class merchant as Ludwig Markovich Bernheim.
