MCAT Pakistan
National Medical & Dental College Admission Test (NMDCAT) (or National MDCAT) is a pen-and-paper based test conducted in Pakistan and internationally each year for those who want to pursue undergraduate medical and dental education in Pakistan. It is a pre-requisite for admission in all medical and dental colleges (both public and private) in Pakistan. NMDCAT is conducted annually by the Pakistan Medical Commission. In 2020, the test replaced the provincial medical entrance exams conducted in the past. King Edward Medical University
King Edward Medical University (KEMU) () is a public medical university located in Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan. Founded in 1860, the university is named after King Edward VII. Established by the British Raj, named as Lahore Medical School. In 1868, the University of Dublin granted students of the Lahore Medical School ”privilege similar to the granted to students from English schools”. In 1871, the university added Mayo Hospital as an affiliated hospital, replacing the existing Anarkali Dispensary. The same year the college became an affiliate of University of the Punjab, while in 1887, the university added Lady Aitchison Hospital as a second teaching hospital. National Testing Service - Pakistan (NTS) is a nonprofit organization in Pakistan that administers academic performance evaluation tests. It is similar to Educational Testing Service (ETS) in the United States. NTS is a member of the International Association for Educational Assessment. It is also recognized by the Higher Education Commission. NTS offers two main types of tests, the National Aptitude Test (NAT) and the Graduate Assessment Test (GAT). NAT is aimed at students seeking admission to colleges and universities, whereas GAT is aimed at graduates seeking admission to postgraduate education. Engineering Colleges' Admission Test (ECAT) is a computer-based test conducted in the Punjab, Pakistan each year in May/June for admission in BE/BS/BSc Engineering degree. ECAT is conducted by the University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore. It was started in 1998 on the initiative of then Chief Minister Punjab Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif to counter cheating in the examinations at that time. Each year around 40,000 students attempt this test while there are around 3000 open merit seats in public sector engineering institutions of the Punjab. ECAT is a pre-requisite for admission in the University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore and its affiliated institutions and all other public sector engineering institutions in the Punjab.
