Super Locomotive
is a side-scrolling train action video game developed by Sega and released for arcades in 1982. Gameplay The objective of the game is to guide a train from one station to next. Along the route, the player must avoid obstacles such as other trains, planes, red signals, trucks crossing intersections, and guide the train along multiple routes by changing tracks en route. The player is armed with a steam fire bullet for destroying airborne targets, and a temporary force field which protects the train for a limited period of time. The use of the bullets and shields rapidly deplete an energy bar which must be maintained between levels by picking up oil items en route. Upon completion of a level, a bonus stage is played which involves the train attempting to shoot as many airborne enemies within a finite time period. Gauntlet IV
''Gauntlet IV'' is a 1993 action video game developed by M2 and published by Tengen for the Sega Genesis. It is a port of the original Gauntlet, and was well received by critics. Gameplay ''Gauntlet IV'' main mode is "quest mode", which combines the gameplay of the original game with a character-leveling system and item purchasing. Additionally, it includes "arcade mode", a port of the original game, "battle mode", a deathmatch game, and "record mode", a single-player only variant of arcade mode in which progress is kept track via a password. Development and release ''Gauntlet IV'' began as a port of the original '' Gauntlet'' for the Sharp X68000 produced as a homebrew project by a group of friends in Japan who would later form the development studio M2. Fantasy Zone
is a 1986 arcade game by Sega, and the first game in the ''Fantasy Zone'' series. It was later ported to a wide variety of consoles, including the Master System. The player controls a sentient spaceship named Opa-Opa who fights an enemy invasion in the titular group of planets. The game contains a number of features atypical of the traditional scrolling shooter. The main character, Opa-Opa, is sometimes referred to as Sega's first mascot character. The game design and main character have many similarities to the earlier ''TwinBee'', and both are credited with establishing the cute 'em up subgenre. It also popularized the concept of a boss rush, a stage where the player faces multiple previous bosses again in succession. Numerous sequels were made over the years. Players control a starship named the Silver Hawk in its mission to destroy the Belser empire before they wipe out the planet Darius. Its gameplay involves traversing through a series of scrolling levels while destroying enemies and collecting power-up icons. It is notable for its unique three-screen panoramic display, upbeat soundtrack, and cute anime-influenced graphics. The game was designed by a small team of others lead by Junji Yarita. ''Gunstar Heroes'' is a run-and-gun shooter video game developed by Treasure and published by Sega. It was Treasure's debut game, originally released on the Sega Genesis in 1993. The game's premise is centered around a pair of characters, the Gunstars, in their efforts to stop an evil empire from recovering four powerful gems. The characters can fire guns and perform a series of acrobatic maneuvers to fight enemies across each stage. There are four weapons in the game which can be combined with one another to create different shot types. Development on ''Gunstar Heroes'' began among a team of staff working at Konami in 1991.
