M. V. Rajamma
M. V. Rajamma (10 March 1918 – 23 April 1999) was an Indian actress, producer and playback singer of films mostly in Kannada, Tamil and Telugu languages from the 1930s through 1970s. She has the distinction of having acted as both heroine and mother to stalwart South Indian actors such as Dr. Rajkumar, Sivaji Ganesan, MGR and NTR. Karnataka Government established ''M. V. Rajamma Award'' in her honor. Making her debut as a lead actress in the 1936 released ''Samsara Nauka'' Rajamma enjoyed an elaborate career in feature films across South India. She was the first and foremost woman producer in South India and in Kannada films. She produced the film ''Radha Ramana'' in 1943 under her own home banner Vijaya Films. Her entry to the Tamil films was through the 1940 classic hit film '' Uthama Puthiran''. ''Abba Aa Hudugi'' () is a 1959 Indian Kannada-language film written, directed and produced by H. L. N. Sinha based on his own play of the same name. It stars Rajashankar in his debut role, Rajkumar in an extended cameo along with Narasimharaju, Mynavathi and Pandari Bai. It is considered a landmark film in Kannada cinema. ''Suvarna Sundari'' () is a 1957 Indian Telugu-language swashbuckler film directed by Vedantam Raghavayya. It stars Akkineni Nageswara Rao, Anjali Devi with music composed by P. Adinarayana Rao. The film was produced by Adinarayana Rao under the Anjali Pictures banner. The film was simultaneously shot in Tamil as ''Manaalane Mangaiyin Baakkiyam'' (). Lata Mangeshkar suggested that ''Suvarna Sundari'' be remade in Hindi instead of dubbing the film. It was then made in Hindi with the title same as the Telugu version. ''Zamindar'' is a 1952 Indian Tamil-language film directed by P. V. Krishnan and written by Jalakantapuram. The film was jointly produced by Jupiter Pictures and Sangeetha Pictures. It stars S. A. Nataraj and Madhuri Devi. The film was commercially unsuccessful. Plot Allikulam is small Zamindari administered by the regent Pandi Thevar, who has plans to usurp it with the sudden and shocking demise of the Zamindar, his villainous brother also plans to usurp the property. ''Penn Manam'' () is a 1952 Indian Tamil-language drama film directed and produced by S. Soundararajan. The film stars T. K. Shanmugam and M. V. Rajamma. Plot Paramasivam, a farmer who lives with his wife Meenakshi and three children in Thanjavur, finds life difficult. Unable to face the difficulties, he goes to Colombo without informing his wife, and joins a drama troupe there. One of his children dies and Meenakshi is harassed by people. She tries to kill the other two children along with herself by jumping into a river with the children. However, they are saved by a ''sadhu'' (ascetic). In Colombo, Paramasivam saves a child from being run over by a car. The car owner gives Paramasivam money in gratitude, and the latter returns to his village in India. The first line which is the first part is about the well known myth of Naragasura. Naragasura, the demon king has invincible powers due to the boons he had received from Devas and with all that he wreaks havoc on everyone. Narada adept in his covert ways to achieve his goals subtly gifts a parijatham flower to Krishna and make him in turn gift it to his first wife Rukmani.
