M. Kodandaram
Muddasani Kodandaram Reddy (b. 5 September 1955) (popularly known as Prof. Kodandaram) is an Indian Activist, Professor (Retd., Political Science) and a Politician. He founded the political party Telangana Jana Samithi (TJS) in March 2018. He was also the Chairman of Telangana Joint Action Committee (T-JAC), which was formed with the goal of achieving a separate Telangana state. He retired as Professor of Political Science from Osmania University in Hyderabad. Early life Muddasani Kodandaram was born on 5 September 1955 to M. Venkatamma and M. Janardhan Reddy, a farmer from Nennel, Bellampalle in the state of Telangana. His birthday aptly coincides with Teacher's Day in India. He has five sisters and a brother. He married Muddasani Susheela on 30 March 1983. Telangana Jana Samithi
Telangana Jana Samithi, abbreviated as TJS, is an Indian regional political party predominantly based in the state of Telangana, India founded by Telangana activist, M. Kodandaram. He was also the chairman of all-party TJAC, Telangana Joint Action Committee (T-JAC), which lead the separate Telangana state movement from 2009. TJAC
Telangana Joint Action Committee (TJAC) is a Telangana activist group. It is an organisation which is fighting for the realisation of statehood for Telangana region. It was formed on 24 December. It is an umbrella organisation comprising various wings such as students, employees etc. The Chairman of TJAC is M. Kodandaram. Polavaram Project
The ''Polavaram Project'' is an under construction multi-purpose irrigation project on the Godavari River in the Eluru District and East Godavari District in Andhra Pradesh. The project has been accorded National Project of India, National project status by the Government of India, Central Government of India. Its reservoir back water spreads up to the Dummugudem Lift Irrigation Scheme, Dummugudem Anicut (i.e. approx 150 km back from Polavaram dam on main river side) and approx 115 km on Sabari River side. Telangana Movement
The Telangana movement refers to a movement for the creation of a separate state, Telangana, from the pre-existing state of Andhra Pradesh in India. The new state corresponds to the Telugu-speaking portions of the erstwhile princely state of Hyderabad, which were merged with Andhra Pradesh in 1956, leading to the Mulki Agitations. After decades of protests and agitations, the central government, under the United Progressive Alliance, decided to bifurcate the existing Andhra Pradesh state and on 2 June 2014, the Union Cabinet unilaterally cleared the bill for the creation of Telangana.
