M. C. Escher In Popular Culture
There are numerous references to Dutch painter M.C. Escher in popular culture. References to ''Relativity'' Film The idea of Shahram Mokri's 2013 film ''Fish & Cat'' was inspired by Escher's paintings. The director gives a change in the perspective of time in one single shot. Mad Mod is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. The character is known as one of the first recurring villains of the Teen Titans. Publication history Mad Mod first appeared in ''Teen Titans'' #7 and was created by Bob Haney and Nick Cardy. Paraplegia, or paraparesis, is an impairment in motor or sensory function of the lower extremities. The word comes from Ionic Greek () "half-stricken". Ultimate, originally known as ultimate Frisbee, is a non-contact team sport played with a frisbee flung by hand. Ultimate was developed in 1968 by AJ Gator in Maplewood, New Jersey. Although ultimate resembles many traditional sports in its athletic requirements, it is unlike most sports due to its focus on self-officiating, even at the highest levels of competition. The term Frisbee, often used to generically describe all flying discs, is a registered trademark of the Wham-O toy company, and thus the sport is not formally called "ultimate Frisbee", though this name is still in common casual use.
