M47 Dragon
The M47 Dragon, known as the FGM-77 during development, is an American shoulder-fired, man-portable anti-tank guided missile system. It was phased out of U.S. military service in 2001, in favor of the newer FGM-148 Javelin system. The M47 Dragon uses a wire-guidance system in concert with a high explosive anti-tank warhead and was capable of defeating armored vehicles, fortified bunkers, main battle tanks, and other hardened targets. While it was primarily created to defeat the Soviet Union's T-55, T-62, and T-72 tanks, it saw use well into the 1990s, seeing action in the Persian Gulf War. The U.S. military officially retired the weapon in 2001. The United States destroyed the last of its stocks of the missile in 2009. M-47 (Michigan Highway)
M-47 is a north–south state trunkline highway in the US state of Michigan. It runs near Saginaw and Midland in the Tri-Cities area of the Lower Peninsula. The highway runs through suburban and agricultural areas to connect the two cities with the airport in the area. The northernmost section of M-47 runs along a freeway to the terminus at US Highway 10 (US 10). M-47 runs for , all of which has been listed as a part of the National Highway System. First designated by July 1, 1919 along a different routing, M-47 was extended several times in both directions through the 1920s and 1930s. The M47 is a short metropolitan route in the City of Johannesburg, South Africa It connects the N14 at Cradlestone Mall with the M18 at Maraisburg in Roodepoort. It consists of only one street, named Hendrick Potgieter Road. Route The M47 begins at a 4-way-junction with the N14 National Route and the R28 Road north-east of Krugersdorp in the Mogale City Local Municipality, adjacent to Cradlestone Mall (south-west of Muldersdrift). The M47 Patton was an American main battle tank, a development of the M46 Patton mounting an updated turret, and was in turn further developed as the M48 Patton. Messier 47
Messier 47 (M47 or NGC 2422) is an open cluster in the mildly southern constellation of Puppis. It was discovered by Giovanni Batista Hodierna before 1654 and in his then keynote work re-discovered by Charles Messier on 1771. It was also independently discovered by Caroline Herschel. There is no cluster in the position indicated by Messier, which he expressed in terms of its right ascension and declination with respect to the star 2 Puppis. However, if the signs (+ and −) he wrote are swapped, the position matches. Until this equivalency was found, M47 was considered a lost Messier Object. This identification as the same thing (ad idem) only came in 1959 with a realization by Canadian astronomer T. F. Morris. M47 is centered about 1,600 light-years away and is about 78 million years old. The member stars have been measured down to about red dwarfs at apparent magnitude 19. The Madsen Lightweight Military Rifle (or the Madsen Lightweight Military Rifle Model 1947; commonly abbreviated as M47) is a Danish bolt-action rifle designed to be chambered for a wide range of contemporary military cartridges. The M47 was the last bolt-action rifle designed with the intention of being general issue to infantry troops. The M47 was first available for purchase in 1951, primarily marketed to countries which could not afford semi-automatic rifles for their militaries. However, with the unprecedented availability of low-cost surplus small arms and the rapid proliferation of self-loading rifles after World War II, global demand for such a rifle was very low and the M47 received very little commercial interest.
