M. Swaraj
M Swaraj (born 1979) is an Indian politician of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) and was a representative of Thripunithura constituency in the Kerala Legislative Assembly. He was the former Kerala State Secretary of Students' Federation of India and Democratic Youth Federation of India. He is a member of the CPI(M) Kerala State Secretariat and State Committee. Personal life and Education M. Swaraj was born at Pathar, Malappuram District. He attended SVHSS Palemad, Edakkara for his Secondary education. He completed his BA in Economics from Mar Thoma College, Chungathara under the University of Calicut in 2000. He later pursued an LLB degree from Kerala Law Academy Law College, Thiruvananthapuram in 2004 and a Master's degree from Annamalai University in 2007. Karuvarakundu
Karuvarakundu is a semi-urban area in the eastern part of Malappuram district, Kerala, India. It is situated east of Manjeri, northeast of Perinthalmanna and 30 km southeast of Nilambur. The Olippuzha River, a tributary of the Kadalundipuzha, flows through the town. Karuvarakundu is close to the Western Ghats and hence prone to landslides. The Silent Valley National Park was included in Karuvarakundu until 1990's. The name ''Karuvarakundu'' means ''place of the blacksmith'', indicating the town's history as a metalworking centre. It is known as the Jamshedpur of south India because of its range of metal depositories. There are many tea and rubber plantations in and around Karuvarakundu. 2016 Kerala Legislative Assembly Election
The 2016 Kerala Legislative Assembly election was held on 16 May 2016 to elect 140 MLAs to the 14th Kerala Legislative Assembly. Voter turnout was 77.53%, up from 75.12% in the previous election. The result was declared on 19 May 2016. The Left Democratic Front (LDF), led by Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI(M)), won the election, defeating the incumbent United Democratic Front (UDF), led by the Indian National Congress (INC), which could only win 47 seats in the election.
