Karuvarakundu
Karuvarakundu is a semi-urban area in the eastern part of Malappuram district, Kerala, India. It is situated east of Manjeri, northeast of Perinthalmanna and 30 km southeast of Nilambur. The Olippuzha River, a tributary of the Kadalundipuzha, flows through the town. Karuvarakundu is close to the Western Ghats and hence prone to landslides. The Silent Valley National Park was included in Karuvarakundu until 1990's. The name ''Karuvarakundu'' means ''place of the blacksmith'', indicating the town's history as a metalworking centre. It is known as the Jamshedpur of south India because of its range of metal depositories. There are many tea and rubber plantations in and around Karuvarakundu. Nilambur
Nilambur is a major town, a municipality and a Taluk in the Malappuram district of the Indian state of Kerala. It is located close to the Nilgiris range of the Western Ghats on the banks of the Chaliyar River. This place is also known as 'Teak Town' because of the abundance of Nilambur teaks in this area; Which is a variety of a large, deciduous tree that occurs in mixed hardwood forests. Perinthalmanna
Perinthalmanna is a major town and municipality in Malappuram district, Kerala, India. It serves as the headquarters of the Perinthalmanna taluk, and a block and a Revenue Division by the same name. It was formerly the headquarters of Valluvanad Taluk, which was one of the two Taluks in Malappuram Revenue Division of the erstwhile Malabar District during the British Raj. The town is located south-west to the city of Malappuram at the centre of the Kozhikode-Malappuram-Perinthalmanna- Palakkad National Highway 966. Kadalundi River
Kadalundi River (Kadalundipuzha) is one of the four major rivers flowing through Malappuram district in the Indian state of Kerala. The other three are the Chaliyar, the Bharathappuzha and the Tirur River. This rain-fed river is long and is one of the most important rivers in the district. Manjeri () is a major town and municipality in Malappuram district, Kerala, India. It is the fourth-most populous municipality in state. Landslide
Landslides, also known as landslips, are several forms of mass wasting that may include a wide range of ground movements, such as rockfalls, deep-seated grade (slope), slope failures, mudflows, and debris flows.
