Luo Da You
Lo Ta-yu (; born 20 July 1954), also known as Luo Dayou and Law Tai-yau, is a Taiwanese singer and songwriter. During the 1980s, Lo became one of the most influential Mandopop singer-songwriters with his melodic lyrics and love songs, and his witty social and political commentary that he infused in his more political songs, often to the point that some of his songs were suppressed in Taiwan and Mainland China during the 1980s. He is recognized as a cultural icon in Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Mainland China. Stylistically, Lo defies classification, though his contribution to the Taiwan campus folk song genre was most significant. His early music in particular shows strong folk roots, and many of his songs tap into native Taiwanese cultural influences. Some songs are reminiscent of 1950s American diner and soda shop rock, and others exhibit a 1970s lounge lizard growl. Luo (surname)
Luo or Lo refers to the Mandarin romanizations of the Chinese surnames 羅 (Simplified Chinese: 罗, pinyin: Luó, Jyutping: Lo4) and 駱 (Simplified Chinese: 骆, pinyin: Luò, Jyutping: Lok3). Angus Tung (; born 26 July 1959) is a Taiwanese singer-songwriter and record producer from the mid-1980s to mid-1990s. Blessed with boyish good looks and talent, Angus Tung debuted in 1983 and released his first solo album "Miss You" (想你) two years after. He subsequently released 14 albums, including a Chinese pop classic "Thinking of You" (其实你不懂我的心). Eric Moo
Eric Moo Chii Yuan (born 9 February 1963), better known as Eric Moo or Wu Qixian, is a Malaysian Chinese award-winning singer-songwriter and record producer. Personal life Moo was born in Mambang Diawan, Kampar, Perak in 1963. He moved to Singapore with his family when he was 8 years old. Moo is married to Taiwanese model Pang Meijun and they have two daughters. Moo's eldest daughter Yonghuan is attending Berklee College of Music. Chyi Yu
Chyi Yu or Qi Yu (; born 17 October 1957) is a Taiwanese singer best known for her 1979 hit, "The Olive Tree" (橄欖樹). She won the 9th Golden Melody Award for Best Female Vocalist Mandarin. She is the elder sister of singer-songwriter Chyi Chin. She is a religious Buddhist and a vegetarian. Chyi Yu is a protege of the late Taiwanese composer and songwriter, Li Tai-hsiang. Li wrote the evergreen masterpiece "The Olive Tree," which was released in 1979. Chyi later married Li's younger brother. Chyi Chin
Chyi Chin (; born 12 January 1960) is a Taiwanese singer, songwriter and actor. Early life Chyi was born in Taichung, Taiwan. When he was young, his father had a strict daily regimen of study that started at 5 am. His studies varied from English music and literature to classical Chinese literature and Tang dynasty poetry. Chyi, however, did not enjoy reading. When he became a teenager, his father's push for education caused a strain on their relationship. Chyi joined a local gang in defiance of his father, and landed in jail for three years as a result of his decision. During his incarceration, Chyi Chin learned to be introspective and kept a diary. While in prison, he earned an appreciation for music. The prison had a guitar in the courtyard for the "juvenile delinquents'" recreation, and Chyi taught himself how to play on it.
