Ludovic Henry (born 4 October 1968) is a French Olympic dressage rider. Representing France, he competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro where he finished 40th in the individual and 8th in the team competition. Dressage ( or ; a French term, most commonly translated to mean "training") is a form of horse riding performed in exhibition and competition, as well as an art sometimes pursued solely for the sake of mastery. As an equestrian sport defined by the International Equestrian Federation, dressage is described as "the highest expression of horse training" where "horse and rider are expected to perform from memory a series of predetermined movements." The individual dressage in equestrian at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro was held at National Equestrian Center from 10 - 15 August. The medals for the competition were presented by Syed Shahid Ali, Pakistan, member of the International Olympic Committee, and the gifts were presented by Maria Gretzer, FEI executive board member. Competition format The team and individual dressage competitions used the same results. Dressage had three phases, with the last being used only for the individual event. The first phase was the Grand Prix. Individuals advanced to the second phase, the Grand Prix Special, if they were on one of the top seven teams or were one of the top 11 remaining competitors. 2015 European Dressage Championships
The 2015 European Dressage Championships was held between August 12 and August 16, 2015 in Aachen, Germany. It formed part of the 2015 FEI European Championships; other disciplines included were jumping, reining and vaulting. It also served as a 2016 Olympics qualifier with team quotas in dressage awarded to the best three teams not already qualified nations. The 2015 event was the 27th edition of the European Dressage Championships.
