2007 Italian Formula Three Season
The 2007 Italian Formula Three Championship was the 43rd Italian Formula Three Championship season. It began on 1 April at Adria and ended on 21 October at Monza after 16 races. With victories at Adria, Misano, Vallelunga and Autodromo Nazionale Monza, Paolo Maria Nocera of Lucidi Motors finished the season as champion. He finished 21 points clear of Europa Corse driver Efisio Marchese, who won three races during the season. Third place went to Alan Racing driver Pablo Sánchez López, who also took three victories at Misano, Mugello, and Varano. Fourth place in the championship was claimed by Corbetta Competizioni's Mirko Bortolotti, who won the race at Mugello, while fifth went to his team-mate Fabrizio Crestani. Paolo Maria Nocera
Paolo Maria Nocera (born July 25, 1985 in Rome) is an Italian former racing driver. Career Formula Renault Nocera began his car racing career by driving in the Italian Formula Renault Championship in 2003; also competing in one race of the Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0. For 2004 he stayed in the Italian series, but only finished twentieth in the drivers' championship in both this and the previous year. Formula Three Nocera first raced in the Italian Formula Three Championship in 2004. Staying with the Lucidi Motors team throughout his time in this formula, he finished thirteenth overall in his first year and improved to third place in the standings in 2005. Following an unsuccessful foray into the Formula Three Euroseries in 2006, Nocera returned to Italy for 2007 and won the F3 championship at his third attempt. 2008 Italian Formula Three Season
The 2008 Italian Formula Three Championship was the 44th Italian Formula Three Championship season. It began on May 10 at Mugello and ended on October 19 at Vallelunga after 16 races. The season began with Edoardo Piscopo dominating the field with four successive wins, but another run of seven victories by Mirko Bortolotti, gave him the leadership in the championship. The championship title was delayed to the last round in Vallelunga, the victory in race one and his eighth of the season gave Bortolotti the championship crown. The three first classified drivers of the championship were rewarded with a Formula One test organized by the Scuderia Ferrari at the wheel of a Ferrari F2008 at Fiorano, with Bortolotti setting the new track record. Mirko Bortolotti (born 10 January 1990) is an Italian racing driver from Trento. He has won the Italian Formula 3 Championship in 2008, the FIA Formula 2 Championship in 2011, the Eurocup Megane Trophy in 2013 and the Blancpain GT Series Endurance and Overall Championship in 2017. He competed as a factory driver for Lamborghini between 2016 and 2019, before moving to Audi for 2020 and rejoining Lamborghini in 2021.
