Lucero (entertainer)
Lucero Hogaza León (; born 29 August 1969) is a Mexican singer and entertainer. She is a multi-platinum singer in Mexico and has sung in Spanish, English, and Portuguese. Lucero has sold more than 30 million records worldwide. She is often referred to as ("The Americas' sweetheart"). As a child she starred in the popular Mexican children shows '' Alegrias de Mediodia'' and '' Chispita''. She went on to release a series of successful albums. Some of her songs peaked on top of most of the Latin charts including the ''Billboard'' charts in the USA. She received her first leading role in the film '' Coqueta'' and went on to film a total of seven movies. Lucero starred in the leading role of nine Mexican telenovelas and has won more TVyNovelas Awards than any other actress. Raúl Velasco
Raúl Velasco Ramírez (April 24, 1933 – November 26, 2006) was a Mexican host/ producer of the TV show ''Siempre en Domingo'' (''Always on Sunday'') which is his hallmark contribution to the Latin American world and eventually to other parts of the world where Spanish entertainment programs are broadcast. Velasco began this program as co-host of a Sunday afternoon special in 1969 called ''Domingos Espectaculares'' (''Spectacular Sundays''). One of his catch phrases was, "Aún hay más" ("There's more to follow"). For a short while, ''Siempre en Domingo'' was known as ''Aún hay más'' because he would always say these words prior to each intermission or commercial, with the hand gesture that corresponds to a request for a commercial break, similar to what Frank Sinatra might have said or sung, ''The best is yet to come. . .'' ''Timbiriche'' (also known for a brief time as ''La Banda Timbiriche'') is a Mexican pop music group. The group started as a children's group in 1981 and managed to evolve successfully into adulthood. Timbiriche is considered one of the most iconic Latin Pop acts of the 1980s and the early 1990s. It was the start of numerous figures in the Latin American entertainment world, including successful singers like Thalía, Paulina Rubio and Edith Márquez, as well as actors, composers and conductors. The Premios TVyNovelas are presented annually by Televisa and the magazine TVyNovelas to honor the best Mexican television productions, including telenovelas. Instituted in 1983, the award ceremony rotates between Mexico City and Acapulco. Angélica Espinoza Stransky (born 11 July 1953), known as Angélica Aragón (), is a Mexican film, television and stage actress and singer. She is daughter of the Mexican composer José Ángel Espinoza "Ferrusquilla". Enrique Lizalde
Enrique Lizalde Chávez (January 9, 1937 – June 3, 2013) was a Mexican film, television and theater actor whose career spanned from the 1960s to the 2000s. He appeared in dozens of films and television shows, including telenovelas, throughout his career. Lizalde began his career in the early 1960s. His film roles included ''Corona de lágrimas'' in 1968 and '' El Monasterio de los Buitres'' in 1973. Lizalde's numerous telenovela credits included '' Chispita'', '' Dulce desafío'', '' María la del Barrio'', '' Alcanzar una estrella'', ''Esmeralda (Mexican TV series)'', and '' La usurpadora''. He was the first actor to portray Juan del Diablo on the original 1966 Mexican telenovela, '' Corazón salvaje''. He was later cast as Noel Mancera in the 1993 remake of Corazón salvaje. ''Chispita'' (English title: ''Little Spark'') is a Mexican telenovela produced by Valentín Pimstein for Televisa in 1982. It's an original story by Abel Santa Cruz, the telenovela is a remake of the 1979 Argentinean telenovela ''Andrea Celeste''. Lucero starred as child protagonist, Angélica Aragón and Enrique Lizalde starred as adult protagonists, Usi Velasco starred as co-protagonist, Alma Delfina and Leonardo Daniel starred as young co-protagonists, while Renata Flores starred as main antagonist. Telenovela
A telenovela is a type of a television serial drama or soap opera produced primarily in Latin America. The word combines ''tele'' (for "television") and ''novela'' (meaning "novel"). Similar drama genres around the world include '' teleserye'' (Philippines), '' téléroman'' (Canada, specifically Quebec), and ''sinetron'' (Indonesia). Commonly described using the American colloquialism Spanish soap opera, many telenovelas share some stylistic and thematic similarities to the soap opera familiar to the English-speaking world. The significant difference is their series run length; telenovelas tell one self-contained story, typically within the span of a year or less whereas soap operas tend to have intertwined storylines told during indefinite, continuing runs. Olive Oyl is a cartoon character created by E. C. Segar in 1919 for his comic strip ''Thimble Theatre''.
