Lucecita (TV Series)
''Lucecita'' is a Venezuelan telenovela starred by Marina Baura, José Bardina, Esperanza Magaz and Ivonne Attas. It was produced and broadcast on Venevisión for about a year and a half, spanning 1967–1968. The original story, written by Delia Fiallo, has inspired several variations and adaptations through the years, most of them by Fiallo, both for television and cinema. In 1972, Venevisión aired its own remake. Summary This story is strongly based in the ''Cinderella'' mold. Yet, there are major aspects on the adaptation that make this Spanish soap opera one of the best in the history of ''telenovelas''. Baura makes a great performance of Lucecita, a naïve girl that leaves her impoverished, rural home to work as a maid for a wealthy and feuding family, who own a cattle-ranching land. Telenovela
A telenovela is a type of a television serial drama or soap opera produced primarily in Latin America. The word combines ''tele'' (for "television") and ''novela'' (meaning "novel"). Similar drama genres around the world include '' teleserye'' (Philippines), '' téléroman'' (Canada, specifically Quebec), and ''sinetron'' (Indonesia). Commonly described using the American colloquialism Spanish soap opera, many telenovelas share some stylistic and thematic similarities to the soap opera familiar to the English-speaking world. The significant difference is their series run length; telenovelas tell one self-contained story, typically within the span of a year or less whereas soap operas tend to have intertwined storylines told during indefinite, continuing runs. This makes them shorter than most other television series, but still much longer than a miniseries. Delia Fiallo
Delia Fiallo (4 July 1924 – 29 June 2021) was a Cuban author and screenwriter who lived in Miami, Florida. She was one of the most distinguished representatives of the contemporary romance novel, dabbling in various genres which appeared in her literary output. Due to the contributions she made to the rise of the melodrama genre in the late 1970s and mid–1980s, she is considered to be the "mother of the Latin American telenovela". By the late 1980s, her shows had over 100 millions viewers combined. Biography Fiallo studied philosophy at the University of Havana, graduating in 1948. She began writing radionovelas in Havana in 1949, making her first adaptation to a telenovela with ''Soraya'', which was released in Cuba in 1957. She left the country, together with her family, in 1966, for exile in Miami, where she would write most of her novels. Marina Baura
Marina Baura (born November 1, 1941) is a former Venezuelan telenovela actress. Early life Born as Julia Pérez in Galicia, Spain, she moved with her parents and brother Jesús to Venezuela when she was 15 years old, in 1956. She started her professional career in the early 1960s as a model in '' El Show de Renny'', a popular variety show hosted by Renny Ottolina and aired on Radio Caracas Televisión. She later studied dramatic art under the direction of Paul Antillano, and made her debut in the Venevisión TV-series ''Casos y cosas de casa''. After that she worked with Simón Díaz in his comedy sitcom ''La Quinta de Simón'', while playing small roles in several telenovelas. José Bardina
José Bardina (March 27, 1939 – December 18, 2009) was a Spanish-Venezuelan actor who was a television leading figure. A native of Barcelona, Spain, Bardina was raised in Caracas, Venezuela. Television career He was best known for playing major roles on several soap operas, and was best loved by audiences for his natural charm and the romantic rapport he shared with his female co-stars, like Marina Baura, Lupita Ferrer and Doris Wells. He was popular in Venezuela, and also in Colombia, Mexico, Peru, Puerto Rico and Spain, after the ''telenovelas'' produced by Radio Caracas Televisión and Venevisión reached its peak during the 1970s decade. Lidia Esperanza Magaz Jaime (February 24, 1922 – May 6, 2013) was a ''telenovela'' television actress. She played under the name of Esperanza Magaz. Born in Havana, Cuba, Magaz relocated to Caracas, Venezuela, in 1953. She ended up as a well-recognized supporting character actress, primarily on RCTV and Venevisión, while playing a variety of assorted supporting roles in dozens of ''telenovelas'' between the 1960s and the early 2012s. Ivonne Attas (Damascus, Syria, August 2, 1943) is a Syrian-born Venezuelan telenovela soap opera actress and politician of the Copei party. Attas served as the third mayor of the Baruta Municipality (3 December 1995 - 30 July 2000). She has mostly portrayed villans during her acting career. Venevisión () is a Venezuelan free-to-air television channel and one of Venezuela's largest television networks, owned by the Cisneros Media division of Grupo Cisneros.
