Luc Courchesne
Luc Courchesne D.F.A. (1952) is a Canadian artist and academic known for his work in interactive art. Life Luc Courchesne was born May 20, 1952, in Saint-Léonard-d'Aston, Quebec. He received a bachelor's degree in design from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design in 1974. In the 1980s, he received a Master of Science degree in visual studies from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Courschene was a member of the MIT Media Lab at its inception in 1985. Courschene was a professor of industrial design at the Université de Montréal. Work Courchesne is known for his interactive video installations and environments. He began working in interactive video in 1984 when he co-authored ''Elastic Movies'', and since has produced many installation works and image series. Saint-Léonard-d'Aston is a municipality in Nicolet-Yamaska RCM in the Centre-du-Québec region of Quebec, Canada. The population as of the Canada 2011 Census was 2,271. The municipality is situated along Route 155, partway between Drummondville and Trois-Rivières. Autoroute 20 and a major intercity railway line, part of Canadian National Railway over which VIA Rail Canada passenger trains also operate, cross through the town. Until the completion of the northern branch of Autoroute 55 in October 2006, Saint-Léonard-d'Aston was a common waypoint for those who travelled between Trois-Rivières and Sherbrooke. Ars Electronica Linz GmbH is an Austrian cultural, educational and scientific institute active in the field of new media art, founded in Linz in 1979. It is based at the Ars Electronica Center (AEC), which houses the Museum of the Future, in the city of Linz.
